Wednesday, Jan. 21
- Theft of a solar panel from a stream flow-gauging station near the 3800 block of Takilma Road was reported. Loss of the item and associated damages were estimated at around $169.
- Theft of two chainsaws from an E. River Street residence was reported.
- Contacted at a Cave Junction business, Melissa J. Lowenstein, 42, was cited to appear in Curry County Circuit Court on a warrant charging failure to appear (FTA) on an original charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII).
- Some $3,150 worth of equipment was reported stolen from a mining claim 12 miles or so up Caves Hwy.

Thursday, Jan. 22
- Kimberley Ann Baker, 44, was cited on a charge of driving uninsured on Caves Hwy. at 8:31 p.m. She also was warned about failure to obey a traffic control device.

Friday, Jan. 23
- Damage was reported to exterior doors, a ransacked office and theft of surveillance cameras at Junction Realty.
- Unknown persons damaged the concession booth and press box, and cut through a chain-link fence at the athletic field at Illinois Valley High School overnight. The thieves made off with an extension ladder, seven 2-by-10 wooden planks from the bleachers, two new soccer nets and some white barrels. The loss was estimated at $750.
- A 14-year-old girl, contacted on Old Stage Road at 3:44 p.m. was warned about possession of tobacco.
- Two people selling firewood were contacted on S. Redwood Hwy. at 4:07 p.m. and informed that their activity required a permit.
- Timothy W. Wagner, 21, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS) on Watkins Street at 4:56 p.m.
- Evicted from a Waldo Road residence, a man asked that he be allowed to return to search for a missing cat. He was advised of his options.
- Christopher Allen Bundy, 34, was cited on charges of driving uninsured and having an expired license.
- Although a man complained that his wife was hitting him in the face at 11:12 p.m., the pair could not be located. Another person stated that the disturbance was verbal only.
- Bobby Joe Stephenson, 21, was cited on charges of speeding (65 in a 45 mph zone) and failure to carry current proof of insurance.

Saturday, Jan. 24
- Theft of a white Toyota pickup truck from a Lakeshore Drive residence was logged.
- In the 5000 block of Lone Mountain Road, James Russell Buist, 40, was arrested on a warrant out of Elko, Nev. charging FTA and contempt of court.
- On Illinois River Road, Benjamin Charles Ingram, 21, was cited on charges of DWS and possession of a controlled substance (PCS), marijuana. Ingram also was warned regarding illegal alteration of display registration and lack of fender flares.
- At 12:55 p.m. a caller said that he’d come across a trio of men stripping a Toyota pickup truck off Reeves Creek Road. One of the three fled in a primer-black colored Toyota pickup with a blue tailgate, the caller reported. Another reportedly stolen pickup, which had been stripped to its frame, was located at the site.
- On Eight Dollar Mountain Road, Peter Andre Struyk, 55, was cited on a charge of DWS. A passenger, Brenda K. Ferrell, 32, was cited on a charge of open container of alcohol. An unidentified “substance” was sent to a crime lab for analysis.
- A white horse was said ambling toward Cave Junction on Rockydale Road at 6:42 p.m., but it was not located again.
- Maryellen Stoner, 53, was cited on a charge of driving uninsured in the 29000 block of Redwood Hwy.
- On Pinewood Way a man complained that a woman was verbally abusive.
- Warned on Caves Hwy. at 9:04 p.m. for failure to drive with headlights, Adam Bret Van Aric Hector, 41, was cited on a warrant charging FTA on an original DUII charge.
- Several street signs were found uprooted in the vicinity of W. River Street.

Sunday, Jan. 25
- A white horse was reported missing from a Rockydale Road stable. The caller was advised that a horse had been seen walking down that road the previous night. The animal later was recovered.
- Following a reported disturbance on Thompson Creek Road, Rhonda Hansen, date-of-birth not listed, was cited on a charge of harassment.
- A man and woman were said to be arguing at a campground on Reeves Creek Road at 9:39 p.m.

Monday, Jan. 26
- Charles Derieft Brooks, 61, was cited on warrants charging FTA on charges of DUII and failure to perform the duties of a driver.
- Dustin Nicolas Dutton, 30, was cited on a charge of DWS on N. Caves Avenue at River Street at 8:59 p.m. He also was warned for failures to stop before entering a roadway, to obey a traffic control device, to yield to an emergency vehicle, and to carry and present a driver license. His spouse was detained briefly as she threatened to drive away, and she was warned for interfering.
- No good reason was found for an audible alarm at Lorna Byrne Middle School at 9:26 p.m.
- Theft of firefighter protective clothing turnouts valued at $1,500 from Illinois Valley Fire District Station 1 in Cave Junction was reported.

Tuesday, Jan. 27
- A caller stated that a man was screaming from bushes at two teen-age girls as they walked on Old Stage Road at 11:45 a.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 28
- It was reported that a man was smoking marijuana on a parking lot in Downtown Cave Junction.
- Items including an Ipod were reported stolen from a S. Old Stage Road residence.
- There was a complaint about theft of a battery and solar regulator from a stream-gauge station in the 3000 block of Takilma Road.
- In the 29000 block of Redwood Hwy. a woman stated that her neighbors (allegedly intoxicated) struck her vehicle and then began “freaking out.”
- It was stated that someone stole prescription medication from a W. Stevenson Street residence.
- Levi Anthony Counts, 23, was cited on a charge of driving uninsured on N. Redwood Hwy. at E. River Street at 9:38 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 29
- Two men were reported fighting in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. The incident was referred to OSP.
- At 9:30 a.m. a woman in Cave Junction reported that her daughter did not return home from school classes the day before.
- On E. River Street a hit-and-run accident which occurred in mid-December 2008 was reported to have caused some $2,000 damage to a Chrysler passenger car.
- Five people were contacted on S. Redwood Hwy at Watkins Street and warned against interfering with a public right-of-way. Additionally, Neil Francis White, 57, was cited for FTA on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass.
- Two people (a man and woman) were warned against trespassing at First Love Fellowship on S. Junction Avenue at 12:57 p.m.
- In the 300 block of S. Redwood Hwy. Brad Bell Blachly, 27, was cited to appear in Cave Junction Municipal Court on charges of DWS and driving uninsured. Blachly was warned for switched license plates, and his vehicle was impounded.
- A man was warned against selling wood without a permit in violation of a city ordinance in the 300 block of S. Redwood Hwy.
- People contacted on a vacant lot on Dogwood Lane stated that they were in the process of buying the parcel. They were advised to wait until the sale was completed before making any “adjustments” or building jumps for their bicycles.
- On E. River Street between 4 and 5:30 p.m. the following were cited to appear in Cave Junction Municipal Court on charges of speeding: Catherine Joan Austin, 47, (40 mph in a 25 mph zone); Michelle Elaine Richardson, 39, (40 in a 25 zone); Franklin Charles Wiles Jr., 35, (40 in a 25 zone); and Lukas Wayne Reynolds, 18, (43 in a 25 zone).
- Following her GPS unit, a woman found herself stuck in snow on Deer Creek Road west of Williams, east of Selma.
