JCSO deputy reassigned; theft cited
From our weekly issue dated December 31, 2008
Josephine County Sheriff’s Office Detective Joshua “Josh” White, 34, has been reassigned to the Records Division after being charged with theft and criminal mistreatment.
White was arraigned during mid-December in Jackson County Circuit Court. He pleaded “not guilty” and was released on his own recognizance. The victim in the case is his grandfather, who lives in Medford, as does White.
White faces five counts each of criminal mistreatment and aggravated theft in connection with what could be at least $170,000 of his grandfather’s money, according to court documents. The relative, 89-year-old Bruce Jackson, is described as incapacitated.
A grand jury brought the charges. In a separate proceeding, a conservatorship, Advocate & Consultant for Elders, claims that Jackson suffered nearly $1.3 million in damages.
