Landscapes transformed by recent snowfall are captivating to behold. This Christmas Day scene on the Illinois River just south of Cave Junction was submitted by I.V. News reader Reba Norman. As of Monday, Dec. 29 the river was swollen with snowmelt and rain. Home Valley Bank employees chose to sponsor two families and jointly donated more than $1,000 to brighten Christmas for a family of seven in Merlin and a family of five in Cave Junction. The donated money was used to purchase a Christmas dinner and gifts for the two adopted families. Jill Gleysteen, HVB public relations director, noted that the employees were excited to help because they felt their donations had a positive effect for each family. HVB also has supported the Lovejoy Hospice Memorial Holiday Tree Program, Toys For Tots, and the Salvation Army Angel Tags Tree this year. (Photo provided)
