  • Thursday, Dec. 11
    • Gerald Donald Massey, 68, was cited on a charge of speeding (64 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Redwood Hwy. near Selma at 11:21 a.m.
    • Michael Clyde MacDonald, 56, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS) in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 12:42 p.m. MacDonald was warned about lack of insurance, and his vehicle was impounded.
    • Joseph Melvin Winslow, 40, was cited on a charge of DWS. The vehicle was impounded.
    • In Downtown Cave Junction, a runaway 15-year-old boy was released to the custody of his mother.
    • Some sort of disturbance between roommates on Millie Street was reported at 2:53 p.m. However, no one other than the caller was in the residence.
    • Contacted on N. Redwood Hwy. in Downtown CJ, Robert Walter Couick, 55, was cited on a warrant charging failure to appear on an original charge of DUII.
    • On S. Redwood Hwy. near Watkins Street, Pearl Adria Waddell, 19, was cited on charges of having no driving license, and driving uninsured. The vehicle was towed.
    • Clifford Ryan Jantz, 18, was cited on charges of driving uninsured and having expired registration. Jantz was warned regarding speed racing, failure to register the vehicle, and the impound ordinance.
  • Friday, Dec. 12
    • A 15-year-old boy was reported as runaway from a Westside Road residence. He was apprehended a few hours later in Downtown Cave Junction, and transported to the Juvenile Justice Center in Grants Pass.
    • On Lakeshore Drive at 4:05 p.m., Jimmy Jay Miller, 35, was cited on a charge of DWS and his vehicle was impounded.
    • A Cave Junction woman said that her brother accused her son of stealing a “large amount of marijuana,” and threatened both of them. Later the man returned and struck her husband, but no charges were filed.
    • A Madrona Drive resident reported someone running through her fenced yard at 7 p.m.
    • On Airport Drive at 9:29 p.m. a woman complained of a dog biting one of her arms.
  • Saturday, Dec. 13
    • A caller asked that a deputy clarify for his father that driving while intoxicated is illegal. The call-taker confirmed that information.
    • A man wearing a bandana (and other clothing?) was contacted in Downtown CJ. The man stated that he was using the bandana to keep warm.
    • A pair of teen-aged persons were advised of Jubilee Park hours at 7:14 p.m.
    • Three people sitting in a vehicle on the parking lot of the Junction Inn were advised to move on, but they were out of fuel.
    • On Caves Hwy. at 9:01 p.m., Rebecca Felicia Saavedra, 38, was cited to appear in Cave Junction Municipal Court on charges of no driving permit and driving without headlights. She also was warned for lacking current proof of insurance and no seatbelt for a child passenger.
    • Harvey Herbert Peters, 48, was cited to appear in CJ Muni Court on charges of DWS and defective lighting. He was warned for not providing proof of insurance, and his vehicle was impounded.
    • A driver was warned in Downtown CJ for a defective license plate light. Within 15 minutes it was reported that a vehicle had run head-on into an oak tree on W. Watkins Street. Paulo Americo Rocha, 20, was cited to appear in Cave Junction Muni Court on charges of violation of the basic rule (speed: 40 mph in a 25 mph zone). He refused medical assistance.
    • Two young hooligans were reported throwing rock-filled snowballs at passing cars in the 35000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 11 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 14
    • Theft of numerous items, including a trailer, was reported from the 1700 block of Dick George Road. The caller had possible suspect data and had located the trailer in O’Brien. A report of first-degree burglary, first-degree theft and second-degree criminal mischief was pending.
    • A smashed window and theft of some $30 change and two drawers with candy-making supplies was reported stolen from Shasta Fudge at 315 S. Redwood Hwy. in Downtown Cave Junction.
  • Monday, Dec. 15
    • An oven set to clean itself was said responsible for a smoke alarm at a Fir Drive residence at 3:33 p.m.
    • A rural CJ man said that he’d been assaulted by his live-in girlfriend.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 16
    • General alarms which sounded from the DMV office in Cave Junction were determined to be the result of employee error.
