IVHS junior Kaberline gets ‘Miss Congeniality’ award

Rebeckah Kaberline
Representing Josephine County, Rebeckah Kaberline, a junior student at Illinois Valley High School, earned the title, “Miss Congeniality,” in the semifinals of the recent Miss Teen Oregon Pageant.
Rebeckah, daughter of Selma residents Todd & Debi Kaberline, celebrated her 17th birthday on stage at Portland Sheraton Airport Hotel. She sang Happy Birthday before news media and an audience of approximately 400.
“Beckah” is a member of the varsity basketball team at IVHS, and played on the varsity volleyball team, and the varsity track-and-field squad. She is known as an excellent musician, who can play guitar and bass, and is working on mandolin.
She’s also a singer, and hopes to become an athletic clothing model. Rebeckah would like to attend college in Oregon and participate in basketball and track. She spent her summer as a volunteer counselor at Fir Point Bible Camp near Glendale, Ore. in Douglas County.
