William W. Bailey
No service will be held for Cave Junction resident William W. Bailey, 53, of Cave Junction, who died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008 as a result of a bicyclist vs. car accident at the south side of Cave Junction.
Mr. Bailey was born on Dec. 9, 1954 in Fullerton, Calif. to Edward & Mildred Bailey. He had lived in Illinois Valley for several years. He is survived by a brother and a sister.
Illinois Valley Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
David J. Christilaw
A memorial service is planned for Cave Junction resident David J. Christilaw, 61, who died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford.
A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, Dec. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Junction Inn in Cave Junction with Linette T. Ellis conducting. Attendees are asked to bring a favorite potluck dish.
Mr. Christilaw was born Dec. 15, 1946 in Detroit, Mich. He served in the U.S. Air Force. In 1994, he received his mechanical engineering degree at Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, and in 1996 he received his master’s degree in material science.
For the past 18 years, he lived in Cave Junction. A carpenter, he built timber homes and pole barns; remodeled homes; and did cabinetry work.
His hobbies included kitchen and bathroom remodeling, building structures, and repairing anything having to do with carpentry. He was known as an excellent craftsman in whatever he did.
He leaves behind his significant other, Linette T. Ellis, of Cave Junction. He is survived by a sister, Niki Ashley, of Sterling Heights, Mich.; and two brothers, Anthony Christilaw of Livonia, Mich., and Frank Christilaw, of Whitmore Lake, Mich.
