  • Tuesday, Nov. 25
    • In a continuing series of thefts at the location, a backpack was reported stolen from a vehicle parked near Rough & Ready Botanical Wayside.
    • Some genius placed a whole bunch of rusty fence wire across the asphalt in the 2200 block of Draper Valley Road. A deputy removed the hazard to a nearby handy ditch.
    • The remains of a primer-gray Bronco were found off Eight Dollar Mountain Road.
    • Regarding a dispute with her 14-year-old daughter, a Cave Junction woman was advised of her options. The girl was reported to have run away about an hour later.
    • Further investigation was warranted following a complaint that a man was text-messaging threats, perhaps in violation of a restraining order.
    • After her ex-boyfriend was incarcerated, a woman sought help to retrieve her child from the man’s girlfriend.
    • A man who had gone out in the morning to look for a job hadn’t returned home by 7:10 p.m., a caller stated.
    • At 11:58 p.m., a missing man returned home. (Don’t know if he got a job).
  • Wednesday, Nov. 26
    • Samantha D. Wiscarson, 24, was cited on a charge of speeding (68 mph in a 55 mph zone) near milepost 23 on Redwood Hwy. at 12:42 a.m.
    • Lee Spivey, 27, was cited on a charge of unspecified speeding on Redwood Hwy. at Clear Creek Road at 7:07 a.m.
    • Kimberley Marie Williams, 38, was cited on a charge of unspecified speeding on Redwood Hwy. at Hogue Drive at 7:27 a.m.
    • In Selma, Caroline Nicole Kitt, 30, was issued a “fix it ticket” for a defective headlight.
    • A residence on Fir Drive reportedly was ransacked. Details were lacking.
    • Cited on charges of unspecified speeding on Redwood Hwy. between Selma and O’Brien between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.: Nancy Jean Clark Cosner, 38; Tracey Eleanor Curtis, 49; Sharon Lynn Webre, 45; Daniel Lee Robinson, 52; James Joseph Lombardo, 71; Bobbie Lee Forsey, 27; John A. Busby, 51; Carolyn May Heald, 58; Michael Allen Davis, 54; and Joseph Patrick Flaherty, 37. Several other drivers were warned for excessive speed.
    • A 15-year-old boy was reported as a runaway juvenile person from a Westside Road residence.
    • Jeremiah William Berger, 15, was cited on a charge of no operator’s permit, and advised of a complaint about his driving.
    • Two teen-aged girls were reported as runaway persons from a Selma home.
    • Someone in a white van was reported going door-to-door on Shadowbrook Drive, seeking odd jobs.
    • A possible prowler was reported in the 2000 block of Caves Hwy. at 8:58 p.m.
    • Theft of a .50-caliber bolt-action rifle and ammunition valued at $2,500 from a Davis Creek residence was reported.
    • Eugene V. Vogel, 62, was cited on a charge of careless driving when stopped on Redwood Hwy. at Clear Creek Road at 9:43 p.m. His driving behavior, including speeding (75 to 95 mph), swerving and passing on turns, was documented by officers in a private vehicle who, it seems, were determined to keep pace with Vogle during the 11-mile pursuit from near Grants Pass.
    • At 11:14 p.m. a woman reported seeing two men emerge from an establishment at the north end of Cave Junction and fire two shots from a handgun in the direction of the highway. The men then went into a residence behind the establishment.
  • Thursday, Nov. 27
    • “What’s my next task? Where are my mashed potatoes?” asked a “totally out of it” man at the door of a N. Old Stage Road residence at 12:08 p.m. He left. Apparently without potatoes.
    • At 12:40 p.m., an unwelcome “way out there” individual was lingering near a garage on Old Stage Road. The caller had a friend come over, and the person left.
    • A man was advised of his options after complaining that work promised in return for a vehicle was not done. He was told it was a civil matter.
    • Donevin Scott Maloney, 20, was lodged in Josephine County Jail on charges of first-degree burglary and criminal mischief following a report of someone inside a house on N. Old Stage Road at 7:04 p.m.
    • A neighbor saw someone with a flashlight in a residence on Kerby Avenue at 9:12 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 28
    • Pounding noises heard coming from a garage at a residence on Hanby Lane at 4:31 a.m. turned out to be not a prowler, but dogs busy with something.
    • A woman on Kerby Avenue said that she was attacked in her yard by two pit bull dogs. Her husband fended them off with a stick.
    • The driver of a white pickup truck was said to have parked in the 18000 block of Illinois River Road early the day before, and hiked up Pearsol Road without any apparent provision for an overnight stay in the wilderness, a caller said. Two officers checked the area, but did not locate the man, who it was thought was from Medford.
    • Some sort of verbal altercation was occurring on Boundry Lane at 10:25 p.m.
    • In Downtown Cave Junction, Antoinette Latasha Alverson, 28, was cited on a charge of failure to appear on an original traffic offense charge.
  • Saturday, Nov. 29
    • In Selma a man said that his two teen-aged daughters used his debit card without permission, spending $456 at two locations.
    • A man with long, dirty hair was seen exposing himself and urinating as he walked down the middle of the roadway in Downtown Cave Junction at 6:49 p.m.
    • Three people were said to be having an argument on the roadway in the 2000 block of Reeves Creek Road at 8:26 p.m.
    • An 11 p.m. call brought allegations of underage drinking, drug use, sexual abuse of young girls and physical altercations stemming from an obnoxiously loud party on Forest Creek Road, which, neighbors said, had been a problem for two weeks.
    • Two men were said to be screaming and throwing items in a guest room at Junction Inn at 9:22 p.m. One man was injured, but uncooperative and declined medical treatment.
    • An anonymous caller said that three people were on their way to break into Great Cats World Park. Nothing unusual was noted at that location.
    • Ethan T. Wyatt, 16, was cited on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (PCS): less than an ounce of marijuana, following a traffic stop in the 200 block of N. Redwood Hwy.

    • It was reported that property in the 35000 block of Redwood Hwy. was becoming a dumping ground for stolen and partially stripped vehicles.
    • After a rent payment disagreement, a man on Caves Hwy. said that a tenant threatened him with a knife.
    • A Takilma resident reported theft and unauthorized use of a credit card.
    • A man said that he was threatened when he attempted to retrieve belongings from a Beebe Drive residence.
