From our weekly issue dated December 3, 2008

Kerby artists and artisans will offer warm holiday greetings and special holiday treats Saturday, Dec. 6 from 3 to 6 p.m. during the Winter Evening of Art & Wine in Kerby.

Music, wine-tasting, culinary creations and new works by Kerby’s creative artists will be highlights.

On the north end of Kerby, Michael & Karen Yanase of Yanase Jewelers will greet visitors with a festival of custom designs for the holidays. The collection will be complemented by homemade sushi and Draper Valley’s nonalcoholic wine.

Libby Goines will accompany her own voice on guitar while visitors at Kauffman Wood Products peruse Kauffman’s finely crafted pole furniture. Delbert & Helen Kauffman will provide snacks from Taylor’s Country Store, and wine from Bridgeview Vineyards Winery.

At It’s A Burl, Joy & Harvey Shinerock will provide chili and Bendock Estate wine from Windridge Vineyard. Plus, visitors can explore the burl yard grounds and burl gallery to the music of other local musicians.

Kerbyville Museum will feature a Christmas Village and Circus Train layout. Special admission price is $1, and folks are encouraged to bring a can of nonperishable food, which will be donated to a local Christmas food drive. The Christmas village display will continue Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 6 and 7, 13 and 14, and 20 and 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
