Auction, tree lighting set Chamber Friday, Saturday events on calendar in CJ

From our weekly issue dated December 3, 2008

Santa Claus is coming to town, courtesy of Illinois Valley Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber will illuminate the holiday season with the annual Christmas tree lighting and sing-along on the Junction Inn vacant lot on Saturday, Dec. 6.

The free, open-to-all event, with the I.V. High School choir and Sean McGhee, will lead caroling, beginning at 6 p.m. There will be free cookies and hot cider; plus Santa will have free candy canes.

Preparation of the tree lights is due to Marty Hertler, of Marty’s Tree Service. And Pacific Power is donating electricity.

On Friday, Dec. 5 the chamber will hold its annual, public fund-raiser auction at Wild River Brewing & Pizza Co. in Cave Junction.
