From our weekly issue dated November 26, 2008

A masked gunman made off with a bag containing some $80 cash and a fuel card from Cave Junction 76 Minimart late Friday night, Nov. 14, according to Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

There were no gunshots, and no injuries were reported, although four witnesses were on scene in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy., according to information provided to responding deputies.

The incident was reported at 11:56 p.m. by employee Sue Haskett. She told the emergency dispatcher that the robber pointed a gun at her and stated, “Give me all your money.”

The armed bandit was reported to be wearing a blue sweatshirt with a hood, blue jeans, and possibly a “skeleton” mask. He fled on foot toward River Street.

Haskitt declined to comment further on the holdup, except to say that surveillance video captured the incident. A report of first-degree robbery and second-degree theft is pending.
