    Deputies are seeking a stocking-masked suspect in a Cave Junction case involving reported burglary and attempted rape, said Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

    A masked gunman made off with a bag containing some $80 cash and a fuel card from Cave Junction 76 Minimart late Friday night, Nov. 14, according to Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

    All three public schools in Cave Junction went into emergency “lock-down” mode with students confined to their rooms with lights out following a report that someone with what could be a gun was seen at Illinois Valley High School.

    Phase 2 of a grass-roots clean-up project was held Nov. 18 at the former home of 103-year-old retired teacher Lorna Byrne in rural Cave Junction by 22 Lorna Byrne Middle School (LBMS) students.
