Thursday, Nov. 6
- On School Street in Kerby a woman refused to let a man remove a camper.
- Some dork broke a mirror off an SUV parked in Cave Junction.
- Cash theft from a Cave Junction bar was reported.
- Some sort of suspicious incident involving a child was reported in the Burgundy Lane/Merlot Drive area of CJ. No crime was found, but the information was logged.
- In Jubilee Park, William P. Cheney, 62, was cited into Cave Junction Municipal Court on a charge of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
- Following a two-vehicle accident at Westside and Finch roads at 2:57 p.m., the intoxicated drivers were said to be fighting.
- Kristin M. Michael, 30, was cited into CJ Muni Court on a charge of driving while suspended (DWS) after being stopped on S. Kerby Avenue.
- The sound of a gunshot was reported at 6:52 p.m. in the 27000 block of Hwy. 199.
- A boy, 17, and a woman, 20, at Illinois River “Forks” State Park were advised of park hours at 9:18 p.m.
- Various traffic stops were made. People were warned.

Friday, Nov. 7
- Jesus Mendoza, 39, was cited on a charge of not having firewood tags when stopped near milepost 5 of Illinois River Road. Later, closer to Selma, Terry D. Davis, 61, was cited on the same charge.
- Although a woman got through to 911 and sounded evasive and as though she’d been crying, it turned out that she actually was phoning a full number with 911 in it, and that she had a cold that made her sound teary.
- Some thoughtless person dumped trash from a motor home on a Cave Junction business parking lot. Later, the woman involved said she’d pick it up (the trash).
- Antonio Santos Escalante, 17, was cited into CJ Muni Court on a charge of driving 45 mph in a 35 zone in the 500 block of Hwy. 46 at 3:46 p.m.
- At 3:48 p.m. a deputy backed up an OSP trooper who was contacting four people on Deer Creek Road.
- Alicia M. Kinsey, 45, was cited in CJ Muni Court on a charge of driving 35 mph in a 25 zone at E. Lister Street and S. Caves Avenue.
- A “suspicious vehicle” was reported by a man who was “temporarily indisposed” in his bedroom in the 3000 block of Deer Creek Road at 4:25 p.m.
- A girl, 12, was reported as a runaway juvenile person from rural Cave Junction.
- There was report at 8:05 p.m. that a short man who might be intoxicated drove away from a store in Downtown Cave Junction.
- Two intoxicated street people, a man and a woman, were “trespassed” from private property on Hwy. 46 at 9:24 p.m.
- From a home in the city of CJ came report that an angry youth, 16, left home. But he returned later.
- “Freaking out” by a woman behind a CJ store was reported at 10:37 p.m., but it turned out that she was just yelling at someone to stop setting off fireworks.

Saturday, Nov. 8
- Numerous traffic stops were made, including several to tell people that they were driving too fast. And that some had defective head lights or tail lights. Also, numerous areas were patrolled.

Sunday, Nov. 9
- When a deputy checked a parked vehicle at the south end of Cave Junction at 12 past midnight, he found three women, two 20 and one 21, with beer. They were “enjoying the evening,” but dumped the brew.
- Various valley venues were viewed, and a variety of vehicles vetted.
- There was a call at 5:33 a.m. from Crooks Creek Road that a cougar was injured/dying on a home porch, and that another cougar was in the yard. The call was forwarded to OSP Fish & Game Division.
- A man was warned for speeding in the 3000 block of Rockydale Road. So was a woman.
- After a call from a man on Norman Road about neighbors regrading the man’s driveway, it was determined to be a civil court matter.
- From Thompson Creek Road came a report that a girl, 14, had run away.
- There was guardrail damage on Hwy. 199 near Eight Dollar Road, but the vehicle was gone following a report at 10:51 a.m.
- On N. Kerby Avenue a couple had a disturbance at 6:39 p.m.
- A father in the city of Cave Junction was concerned about his young son who said he preferred to leave home than attend church and was “out of control.” The father didn’t want to leave the boy home alone because of a history of witchcraft, and use of tobacco and alcohol.
- Near milepost 31 on Hwy. 199 at 7:44 p.m., a man was warned about speeding.
- Eric Steve Restad, 41, was cited on a charge of DWS near milepost 30 of Hwy. 199, and arrested under a Linn County warrant charging failure to comply in connection with having an open container of alcoholic beverage in a moving vehicle.
- Numerous and plentiful traffic stops were made and warnings given, especially for defective equipment; and many valley areas were patrolled.
- An upset mother phoned at 10:41 p.m., concerned because she just saw her husband at a bar, which means their children were at home alone. A deputy checked the home, and it seemed that no one was there.
- There was a loose cow in the 1000 block of Illinois River Road. Subsequently, a gate was fixed.
- A quad reported stolen in July 2007 was found in the 1000 block of Deer Creek Road.
- A vehicle driven by Lee Ray Lewis, 58, was impounded in Cave Junction; and he was cited on charges of failure to appear (FTA) on an original charge of first-degree trespassing. He also was cited into CJ Muni Court on a DWS.
- A woman complained that a man who had been arrested earlier was giving her a problem in the 27000 block of Hwy. 199.
- What first was thought to be a disturbance turned out to be a party on Chapman Creek Road.

Monday, Nov. 10
- Theft of sleeping pills was reported on Schumacher Street.
- A girl wearing tight jeans was angry and ran away from home in rural CJ at 1:17 p.m. She returned at 4 p.m.
- First, a man said that a woman in Downtown CJ tried to run him down as he crossed a street. He called it menacing. Next, she was contacted, and said that she had stopped and talked to the man. Third, she was going to go for a restraining order. Finally, both were advised of their options.
- A woman in CJ said that her former husband is violating a restraining order by phoning her a lot. She wants him warned.
- A runaway girl in Selma returned home.
- Officers in a California city were to contact a man who might have improperly touched a girl a few years ago before the family moved to Illinois Valley.
- Numerous traffic stops were made, including several to tell people that they were driving too fast. And that some had defective head lights or tail lights. Also, numerous areas were patrolled.

Tuesday, Nov. 11
- A street couple found sleeping in front of Oregon Mountain Real Estate was roused at 2:24 a.m.
- Lee Allen Martinho, 52, was cited on a charge of driving under the influence (DUII) of an intoxicant at 7:24 p.m. on Old Stage Road.
- Deborah Lynn Harvey, 56, was cited in Kerby on charges of no operator’s license and no insurance.
- A man suffered burns on W. River Street because rubbing alcohol ignited while he was mixing it with marijuana to put it into capsule form, and he got too close.
- An unidentified man was cited on Burch Drive at 10:50 p.m. on a charge of failing to leave his name at the scene of an accident.

Wednesday, Nov. 12
- A drunken man caused a report of domestic violence in progress at 3:03 a.m. on Schumacher Street, as he was punching the door of a pregnant woman. He was driving a red vehicle.
- Following a complaint by a man on Draper Valley Road that his girlfriend boogied at 3:47 a.m. with $1,900 and prescription drugs that belong to him, he declined to pursue charges.
- A restraining order was served on a man on Pinewood Way at 8:48 a.m.
- After rolling her car five times at the bottom of Hay’s Hill on Hwy. 199 shortly before 10 a.m., the driver, Jamie McGhee, 22, was described as “very upset.” She was using her safety belt, and complained of knee and collarbone pain.
- Upon returning home in the 1700 block of Laurel Road at 3:08 p.m., a couple found pry marks on their garage door.
- Possible violation of a restraining order in Cave Junction was reported, but found unfounded.
- Jubilee Park was patrolled at 4:22 p.m.
- Bonita Gayle Petersen, 42, was cited into CJ Muni Court on a charge of failing to obey a traffic signal at Hwy. 199 and Rockydale Road.
- Burning tires “putting off an awful smell and a lot of smoke” was reported at 6:26 p.m. on Hogue Drive. The burner appeared to be hostile behind a locked gate and “there is a history of hostility.” But the man said he is not hostile and didn’t need to let in firefighters because he’s not in the district.
- “Forks” State Park was patrolled at 7:54 p.m., but apparently all the druggers and drinkers were in hiding or passed out.
- At 9:45 p.m. the area of the Eight Dollar Botanical Garden was checked.

Thursday, Nov. 13
- In rural Grants Pass on Fish Hatchery Road, nice people caused an estimated $500 damage by trying to break into a car.
- Naomi R. Garman, 63, was cited on charge of VBR (violation of the basic rule/driving too fast for conditions): 57 mph in a 45 mph zone on Hwy. 199 in Selma.
- No evidence of a crime was noted after a report that a man was hitting a dog with a baseball bat on Schumacher Street, because the dog had gotten loose and was in an attack mode, so the man was said to be keeping it from killing another dog.
- After her daughter threw her against a dresser, a woman in rural GP didn’t want the girl to come home.
- A totally stripped Toyota truck reported stolen in 2003 was found on BLM land in the Hwy. 46/Holland Loop area. The naked vehicle remains consisted of the frame, bed and cab.
- The beverage of choice for most street people, Steel Reserve 211, was dumped by a deputy after he contacted Ralph C. Rowden, 41, in Jubilee Park. He was cited into CJ Muni Court on a charge of consuming an alcoholic beverage where prohibited.
- Following a traffic stop in Downtown Cave Junction at 3:26 p.m., a vehicle driven by Harvey Herbert Peters, 48, was impounded. Peters was cited on a DWS charge, and warned for lacking insurance.
- Bryan James French, 31, was cited on a DWS charge at Hwy. 46 and Holland Loop, and warned for trespassing on BLM land.
- Some pleasant person caused some $45 damage trying to break into a vehicle in the 300 block of Draper Valley Road.
- Because of a defective tail light, a man was warned in Cave Junction at 5:14 p.m.
- Numerous referrals about people in Illinois Valley were received from the Dept. of Human Services, but none required law enforcement intervention at this time.
- Stephanie Anne Moor, 26, was cited into CJ Muni Court on a charge of not having a license after a traffic stop at Hwy. 199 and Hanby Lane at 6:09 p.m. She was warned about impoundment and defective tail lights.
- Motorcycles, including one that crashed, were being driven at 90 mph in the New Hope Road area of rural GP.
- After tenants moved out in a hurry at night on Draper Valley Road, the landlord found the next morning that some of the woman’s belongings were damaged or missing. Plus, a well pump and wiring were missing, and a window was broken.
- A Cave Junction wife was angry because her husband borrowed her friend’s pickup truck while he was intoxicated, which she learned when he phoned her from a bar.
- “Banging” was heard near trash cans at 8:33 p.m. on N. Junction Avenue. The complainant did not want to look outside.
- At 9:07 p.m., a woman in Cave Junction said that her drunken boyfriend had grabbed her by the hair. Both were warned about harassment, and she was given a courtesy ride to a motel.
- Near Kerby on Hwy. 199 at 9:47 p.m. a woman was warned about a defective license plate light.
- At 10:05 p.m. on Hwy. 199 near Burch Drive, a woman was warned about driving too fast, and a man was warned for the same at 10:36 p.m.
- Close to 11 p.m. at Hwy. 199 and Lakeshore Drive, a woman was warned for failure to maintain lane; and at 11:15 p.m. the area of Lake Selmac was checked, followed by a check of Deer Creek Park at 11:48 p.m.
