V.A. clinic open for JoCo vets
From our weekly issue dated November 12, 2008
V.A. West Outreach Clinic, a new Veterans Administration (V.A.) community-based outreach clinic, has opened in Grants Pass at 520 S.W. Ramsey Ave., Suite 102, near the Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.
The initial focus will be on service to veterans from Illinois Valley and Williams.
“Southern Oregon Rehab Center and the White City V.A. saw the need to do this sort of outreach,” said Lisa Shipley of the county Veterans Services Office. “This clinic was created to serve the veterans in outlying areas (of Josephine County).”
The clinic is open Wednesdays through Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Shipley said. Two primary-care physicians will be on duty Wednesdays and Thursdays, and a mental health expert is available Fridays.
The clinic, with its full staff and facility, will be able to conduct annual exams and conduct laboratory work.
