Thursday, Oct. 23
- A hunter set up near Bolan Lake reported theft of his entire camp, including a large tent, sleeping bags, air mattresses and a lantern. It was unknown if the hunter next went hunting for the thieving ##@xx.
- A vehicle belonging to persons unknown (by the complainant) had been parked on her property for the past two weeks, reported a Selma resident.
- On Caves Hwy. a goat was found decapitated. A report for aggravated animal abuse was to follow.
- In the 37000 block of Redwood Hwy. a woman returned home to find the head of a goat (with pink bows on its horns) on the hood of her vehicle.
- Anotoinette Latasha Alverson, 28, was cited in Jubilee Park in Cave Junction on a warrant charging failure to appear (FTA) on an original charge of driving with a suspended license.
- A highly intoxicated man known to deputies phoned from Downtown Cave Junction to request a ride to jail. He was informed that the sheriff’s office does not provide taxi service.
- At 7:04 p.m., Gary Lee Braden, 51, was cited to appear in CJ Municipal Court on a charge of driving while suspended. (DWS). He was warned for defective tail lights and no current proof of insurance.

Friday, Oct. 24
- Nada.

Saturday, Oct. 25
- On Illinois River Road it was reported that the driver of a blue, step-side pickup truck was speeding.
- In Kerby it was said that a care-giver was refusing to give meds to his charge until paid for. The situation was resolved without law enforcement intervention.
- Out Illinois River Road one driver was warned for inadequate mud flaps (on his vehicle), and another person was warned for an untagged load of firewood.
- A woman said that her ex-boyfriend has been following her around town.
- Following a vehicular pursuit, Kim Hursh, 55, was apprehended at gunpoint at the south end of Cave Junction. He was lodged in Josephine County Jail on a warrant charging failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree sex abuse; and he was cited on charges of eluding and DWS.
- Andra Lynn Moore, 48, was cited on a charge of driving without a license on Rockydale Road at 8 p.m.
- Five people, ages 15 to 17, were contacted in a vehicle at Jubilee Park at 11:55 p.m. and warned about park hours. The driver was warned for failure to carry and present proof of insurance.

Sunday, Oct. 26
- Campgrounds from Big Pine, through Sam Brown and Spaulding Pond to Burma Pond, were checked between 7:49 and 9:09 a.m.
- Because he could not make payments, a man was forced to return a car to its former owner, who stated that the man was angry, and that he cussed and threatened her. The text of the tirade was not provided.
- On Caves Hwy. near S. Junction Avenue, an unidentified driver was cited on a charge of DWS, and the vehicle was impounded.

Monday, Oct. 27
- Theft of a day planner and three-ring binder by breaking a window on a vehicle at Rough & Ready Botanical Wayside Sunday night was reported at 9:15 a.m. A reward is offered for returning the items, which are of no value except to the owner, who really wants them back.
- On S. Junction Avenue a caller complained that the neighbor’s dog, which is chained outside all day, barks and often becomes tangled.
- While trying to collect money from a man on Iron Way, a woman said, he became angry and threw a rock through her vehicle window.
- In O’Brien it was reported that an intoxicated driver attempted to ram another person’s vehicle.
- A resident in the 10000 block of Caves Hwy. said that she threatened to get a gun when an employee with Pacific Power came onto her property to discuss trees encroaching on utility lines. Whether she planned on trimming branches by shooting at them was not explained.
- Residents on Cabernet Circle were warned regarding burning regulations. (Not actually setting fire to regulations, but knowing the law.)

Tuesday, Oct. 28
- Four people were contacted at Seats Dam off Airport Drive at 12:43 a.m.
- David J. Easterford, 45, was cited on a charge of DWS and driving uninsured. He was warned for failure to maintain lane and failure to carry registration.

Wednesday, Oct. 29
- Joanna Rae Jackson, 39, was cited on a charge of violation of the basic rule (VBR: driving too fast for conditions) at 8:32 a.m. on Redwood Hwy. at milepost 30.
- April Heather Harvey, 32, was cited on a charge of VBR in the 3000 block of Caves Hwy. at 11 a.m.
- Contacted in Downtown Cave Junction at 12:33 p.m., John Richard Bucy, 39, was lodged in Josephine County Jail on a Sacramento, Calif. warrant charging parole violation. He also was cited on charges of DWS and driving uninsured.
- Verbal harassment was reported by a Kerby man whose co-worker exhibited a “violent display of words.”
- Damian M. Clark, 15, was apprehended in Downtown Cave Junction, charged as a runaway and released to his mother.
- James Irvin Mutina, 56; and William P. Chaney, 62, were each cited on a charge of having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in Jubilee Park at 4:43 p.m.
- A woman was concerned because the people who look after her brother drink and argue, she said.
- A caller was concerned about yelling coming from Jubilee Park. It was determined that the noise came from a “haunted happening” in the city-owned facility.
- Harassing telephone calls to a Rockydale Road residence were reported at 8:24 p.m.
- On N. Redwood Hwy. in Downtown Cave Junction, Amber Ruth Contreras, 20, was cited on charges of driving uninsured, and failure to signal a turn. Her passenger, Jedediah Lee Hardwick, 24, who had been driving before the pair switched places, was cited on charges of DWS, driving uninsured and failure to signal a turn.
- When checking a vacant residence on Westside Road, a man said that he was shot at by an unknown person hiding in a closet.
- In another such incident, residents in the 5000 block of Westside Road returned home and found a man hiding in a closet. When challenged, the man fired a handgun and fled. Officers found five .45-caliber shell casings.

Thursday, Oct. 30
- Danny Marcus Barquera, 19, was arrested in Grants Pass on a warrant charging two counts of third-degree assault and riot in connection with an incident at Art’s Red Garter in Cave Junction earlier this year.
