Oregon in pandemic flu plan

A $1.5 million federal grant to prepare a demonstration project in case of a major epidemic of influenza will be received by the Oregon Public Health Division.
The project will be one of three that will serve as models for programs nationwide. The two others are Multnomah Health Dept. ($1,034,066) and Lane County Public Health ($260,371).
The funding is part of $24 million made available for 62 projects through the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention Division of State & Local Readiness, Coordinating Office for Terrorism Preparedness & Emergency Response.
