Saturday, Sept. 20

Two vehicles were reported stolen from a Caves Hwy. residence in the 800 block.

Screaming was reported coming from the vicinity of Jubilee Park at 12:26 a.m.

Seven juvenile persons, ages 13- to 16-years-old, were warned regarding curfew and trespassing at Lorna Byrne Middle School at 12:31 a.m.

Following a report of forced entry at a Millie Street residence, William Bryan Norris, 31, and Aaron M. Baker, 20, both were cited on charges of first-degree burglary and three counts of menacing.

A patrol car was damaged when a deputy struck a deer in the 21000 block of Redwood Hwy.

While investigating a “suspicious” motor home on Page Creek Road, an officer noted the presence of several aggressive dogs. When the dogs attempted to bite him, he pepper-sprayed them. The owners were not located.

A young child was found on Lakeshore Drive at 5:25 p.m., a caller said. The mother arrived and retrieved the child.

Some sort of loud, aggressive-sounding disturbance was reported on Pinewood Way at 7:15 p.m. Subsequently, Matthew Stephen Atkinson, 16, was cited on charges of attempted assault on a public safety officer, domestic harassment, minor in possession of alcohol (MIP) and MIP/tobacco.

Persons associated with a vehicle with California license plates were contacted in Jubilee Park at 9:17 p.m. and advised of park hours. They then left.

Mary Katherine Ruth Wisener, 22, was cited on a federal charge of possession of a controlled substance (PCS) less than an ounce of marijuana during a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Rockydale Road.

Sunday, Sept. 21

Some sort of disturbance spilled out of a lounge and into a restaurant dining room at 12:10 a.m., a caller said, but the bartender handled it.

Isaiah William Macias, 19, was cited on charges of driving under the influence of an intoxicant and MIP on Redwood Hwy. near Lone Mountain Road at 2:11 a,m. His blood alcohol content was listed as .09, and his vehicle was impounded.

A cat was found to be responsible for activating an alarm at a residence in the 1200 block of Laurel Road at 12:02 p.m.

Three people on ATVs were contacted near the historic Chinese cemetery near Waldo at 1:47 p.m. Shayne Timothy Farnsworth, 29, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS) and all were warned about riding in a closed area.

A fight said to be between an older man and three or four teen-aged persons was reported to have taken place inside a Cave Junction business at 8:47 p.m. Neither side wanted to press charges, but both wanted the others warned regarding behavior.

An officer was flagged down and informed of a fight at 11 p.m. in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy.

Glenn Maurites Struyck, 53, was cited on a charge of failure to renew something on E. River Street at 11:33 p.m.

Two Selma sisters were reported as runaway persons.

A Cave Junction resident reported receiving harassing phone calls from her ex-boyfriend’s brother, who stated that he was going to plant drugs at her house and then report her to the Dept. of Human Services.

Two naked, young children were found walking on Pinewood Way with their dog at 2:18 p.m. Their father was located as he was trying to find them.

Keys and a purse were reported stolen last week from a residence on Sanger Lane. The complainant stated that her vehicle subsequently had been entered while she was at work.

Nikolas D. Granville, 17, was cited on a charge of speeding on Redwood Hwy. in Cave Junction at 7:30 p.m.

On Caves Hwy. a man complained that he’d been locked out of his trailer by a woman who was tearing the place apart.

Chrisina May Keating-Copenhaver, 33, was cited on a charge of speeding (60 mph in a 45 zone) in the 25000 block of Redwood Hwy.

On Kenwood Lane a woman said that two young men who stated they were looking for her grandson damaged a motor home and threw a rock at a pickup truck window, breaking it.

Bottle rockets were being fired from a house on Hanby Lane, a caller said at 8:51 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 22

Handguns and jewelry were reported stolen from a residence in the 2000 block of Caves Hwy.

An aspiring shoplifter was reported trying to steal beer from Shop Smart Food Warehouse. (There is no crime on the books listed as “shoplifting.” It’s theft).

Contents of her mailbox were scattered on the roadway, a Pinetree Way resident said.

A Dick George Road resident thought it suspicious that a man working on telephone boxes was driving a plain, white truck and was not identified as being from either Frontier Communications or Pacific Power.

A woman was accosted in Downtown Cave Junction by an angry, gap-toothed, long-haired man who screamed at her, spit on her car and complained about how she parked her vehicle.

Some genius broke a window at a residence on N. Junction Avenue.

A woman was transported by American Medical Response (AMR) to Three Rivers Community Hospital (TRCH) in Grants Pass following an altercation on W. Watkins Street reported at 7:27 p.m. Arrested were Jeremy Justin Beck, 28, and Crystal Costa, 33, each of whom was cited on a charge of third-degree assault.

Reporting an assault in progress, a woman on Millie Street requested deputies “come clean (the victim) up off the street.” The intoxicated and injured man was transported to TRCH by AMR on a peace officer’s mental hold.

A runaway girl was returned to her Selma home.

Loud music was complained about in the 5000 block of Westside Road at 9:59 p.m.

Two Illinois Valley High School students were found to be under the influence of alcohol while on campus. The parents were contacted; and the boys were suspended from school and warned about MIP crime.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

In connection with an incident at Carlos’ Restaurante in Cave Junction, Stephen R. Clardy, 52, was arrested by Oregon State Police. It is believed that he burglarized the business, where he was found sleeping. He was detained by employees. Clardy also is a suspect in vandalism involving broken windows the week before at King’s Chinese Cuisine and Shasta Fudge. Also, he was found in possession of a case of Corona beer stolen from King’s.
