Amazon Queen reigns again.
Kris Pindar originally opened Amazon Queen on Valentine’s Day 2008, fulfilling a dream and a promise to her mother to open a queen-sized women’s clothing store. Despite some advertising efforts though, business didn’t pick up as she planned.
In August,Pindar was about to give up and close her shop, unable to work the demanding schedule by herself. That changed, thanks toBrandy Dobler.
After Dobler and her husband sold Twin Pines in O’Brien, she came to work with Pindar. The two hit it off immediately, and they feel thatdestiny and fate got them together. Doblerthe shop so much that she decided to join forces with Pindar.
Pindar is the buyer, and Dobler the salesperson. Between the two, they have revived Amazon Queen. Originally the clothing was “high-end,” but the selection is now more “trendy” and in a wider variety of sizes.
Besides their extensiveline of Goddess clothing, sizes 14 and higher, they also offer sizes 4 to 6x.
Overall prices are lower, and there are half-price sales throughout the store, with bargains such as a $5 short-sleeve shirt in size medium. There is another whole room full of clothing that doesn’t fit on the sales floor, and boots and coats will be available as fall weather approaches.
Besides clothing, Amazon Queen now carries a wide variety of gift items. Hand-blown Spirit balls or Witch balls imported from Canada gather bad energies, and come in different colors for love, health or money.
Other gifts includecandles, knick-knacks, coffee tables, healing salt lamps and Batik items.
Amazon Queen offers unique jewelry from Lima, Peru. This lightweight jewelry is made from Alpaca silver, an alloy “that won’t tarnish.” Some earrings resemble exquisite miniature Dream Catchers made from fine jeweled thread.
Bullhorn jewelry is another one-of-a-kind offering. Jewelry prices also are reasonable, including a necklace and earring set on sale for $21.
Pindar offers personal shopper service for weddings, or for those having trouble finding a certain outfit within their price range. She also assists young women with styling, and loves helping with Halloween costumes.
“We are one of the last of the truly personalized customer service-oriented small boutiques,” claims Pindar.
Whether it’s for back-to-school, a new fall wardrobe, or early Christmas shopping, browsers at Amazon Queen will find personalized service. Shoppers can find name-brand designer fashions without the designer prices at Amazon Queen at 146 S. Redwood Hwy. in the “Rising Suns Bldg.” next to Taylor’s Country Store.
