A day-long benefit for the families of two firefighters from Illinois Valley is set for Saturday, Sept. 6 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The fund-raiser at the Lake Selmac Boy Scout area will aid the families of Bill Coultas, 44, and Caleb Renno, 21. The latter died in a helicopter crash Aug. 5 in connection with a wildfire in Northern California. Coultas is recovering from burns suffered in the accident.
The benefit will include live music by at least seven groups and individuals. Food and beverages will be available. A free-will donation (suggested: $10) will allow attendees to come and go.
Other attractions will include a clown and face painting for children. An auction of donated items will be conducted by Jim Frick.
The entertainment will open with a performance by MacKenzie Yeoman, a singer and guitarist. Other performers will be Groove De Ville, Lou Levison, Butch Martin, Southern Oregon Blues Band, Jefferson, Two Foot Daddy, and Oregon Little Big Band.
