Thursday, Aug. 7
*Two people were advised about Illinois River “Forks” State Park hours at 12:22 a.m.
*In Downtown Cave Junction near River Street between 2 and 3 a.m., two teen-aged boys were warned about violating curfew and not wearing appropriate bicycle helmets.
*On W. Watkins Street, Troy Craig King, 26, was cited to appear on a warrant charging second-degree criminal mischief.
*A foreman for Pacific Power said that a man on Happy Camp Road was causing trouble for his tree-trimming crew. The man stated that he had a problem with Pacific Power driving through the tall, dry grass and too near his animals.
*Theft of a vacuum cleaner and “some movies” from a Kerby Street residence was reported.
*Near Snailback Trailhead out Illinois River Road, minor in possession of alcohol citations were issued to Zachary Pagnotta, 20; Lefeagai Tausaga, 20; Adam Miller, 19; and Matthew Nolan, 16.
*Joseph S. Powell, 29, was cited on a charge of failure to wear a seatbelt in the 6000 block of Illinois River Road.
*A chainsaw and other tools were reported stolen from a storage shed on Forest Creek Road.
*Edward J. Burdette, 39, was cited on a charge of failure to carry proof of insurance. He also was warned for having expired registration, and his vehicle was impounded.
*Near the green bridge out Eight Dollar Mountain Road a woman said that an older man entered her campsite and stared at her.
*Amber Lynn Lee, 19; and Tess Elizabeth Hartman, 20, were cited on minor in possession of alcohol charges after deputies contacted them during a bar check at the Junction Inn.
*Several people were seen running from Jubilee Park toward the LDS Church next door at 11:41 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 8

Saturday, Aug. 9
*A newspaper delivery person was contacted because he was stopped facing opposing traffic on Hwy. 199 at 3:20 a.m.
*It was reported that an intoxicated and uncooperative man attempted to leave Shop Smart Food Warehouse with an entire cart full of goods, for which he had not paid. He was detained. No shoplifting (third-degree theft) charges were filed, but Jade Charleton Yandell, 18, was cited on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault in connection with another incident, and “trespassed” from the store.
Sunday, Aug. 10
*Three people were seen chasing another man in Downtown Cave Junction at 1:47 a.m. The man being chased claimed not to know his assailants, and declined to press charges.
*Jonathon Michael Arvallo, 23, was cited on a charge of damaging government property at Iron Ring Campground on Illinois River Road.
*While waiting to meet a real estate agent in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy., a man said, he was confronted by a woman who threatened to shoot him and told her dog to chase him. He left, presumably without seeing the property.
Monday Aug. 11
*Damage to a vacant residence on Briar Lane was reported.
*Some 250 methadone pills and $500 cash were reported stolen from a Caves Hwy. residence.
*A 14-year-old girl was reported as runaway juvenile person from O’Brien.
*Traffic on Hwy. 199 through Kerby was reduced to one lane around 6 p.m. as an intoxicated woman was extricated from some roadside bushes into which she’d fallen after becoming unconscious. American Medical Response took her to a hospital.
*A Deer Creek Road resident said that people were trespassing on his property and damaging a creek bed by driving in it.
Tuesday, Aug. 12
*In violation of a restraining order a man keeps turning up at a N. Old Stage Road residence, according to a young woman.
*Upset that a pawn shop wouldn’t buy a spray gun he was offering, a man became agitated and started to “go crazy.” He finally left, and the door was locked behind him.
*Theft of some $1,700 worth of cigarettes from a storage shed behind CJ 76 service station was caught on surveillance video, a caller reported.
Wednesday, Aug. 13
*Several people phoned to report bottle rockets and fireworks, and possibly gunfire, in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. in Kerby at 4:17 a.m.
*David A. Kelly, 48, in the 28000 block of Redwood Hwy., was lodged in Josephine County Jail on a warrant from Cortez, Colo., charging “dangerous drugs.”
*An incident of shoplifting (third-degree theft) was reported at Shop Smart Food Warehouse.
*After leaving a residence in Cave Junction where people claimed that he was threatening them, Lee Ray Lewis, 57, was arrested while hitchhiking on Takilma Road. He was cited on charges of first-degree criminal trespassing and menacing.
*Theft of a bicycle was reported in Downtown CJ.
