Stock count at I.V. Library set Saturday

From our weekly issue dated July 23, 2008

An inventory of books at the Illinois Valley Branch Library will be conducted Saturday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., said Josephine County Libraries Inc., a nonprofit group working to reopen county libraries.

Volunteers are needed.

“The I.V. inventory will take several work days to complete,” said Cave Junction resident Linda Naydol, a volunteer leader. “We can create a flexible schedule to accommodate volunteers.”

Volunteers can contact the project coordinator, Kris Gleisner, via e-mail at kpbiz@charter.net.

Naydol added that JCL and I.V. Friends of the Library will have a booth at the Blackberry Festival in Jubilee Park on Saturday, Aug. 9.

“I am looking for volunteers to help man the booth, do the booth decoration, etc.,” she said. “Also, we are thinking about offering slices of blackberry pie for a donation. Are there any bakers out there who would like to supply the pies?
