Thursday, May 29

*Jeremy J. Beck, 28, and Maureen Sesock, 49, were cited at Jubilee Park at 10:06 a.m. to appear in Cave Junction Municipal Court on charges of possession of alcohol.

*Several drivers and their passengers were warned for failure to wear a safety belt in and around the valley today. Among those cited on this charge: Sandra Gay Dillard, 46; Eldon Scott Thornton Sr., 45; Maria S. Granzio, 44; Dennis R. Austin, 50; Phillip D. Cornelison, 25; Meridith J. Weiss, 33; and S.E. Rose Bahr, 40.

*In the 33000 block of Redwood Hwy. a property owner reported that a recent tenant caused extensive damage to a residence.

*Joseph Melvin Winslow, 40, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS) in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.

*A caller stated that he thought he knew where his stolen pickup could be found on Deer Creek Road. Deputies were unable to locate it.

*Stacie Marie Byrne, 37, was cited on Holland Loop at Takilma Road at 6:37 p.m. on a charge of driving uninsured.

*Angry about matters including being ejected from a softball game by an umpire, a coach drove away from Jubilee Park at a high rate of speed, reported a caller who expressed concern for others on the road.

*Mark Dwyer, 43, was cited on a charge of speeding on Redwood Hwy. at Laurel Road at 10:05 p.m.

*In the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. Paul C. Cooper, 40, was cited on a St. Helens, Ore. municipal warrant at 11:04 p.m. He also was cited on charges of DWS and driving uninsured.

Friday, May 30

*Some genius smashed a window and a plastic box for real estate brochures in the 200 block of S. Redwood Hwy. overnight, causing some $175 worth of damage.

*An 11-year-old boy on S. Junction Avenue was counseled about his defiant behavior after he tried to hit his mom with a stick, and had been generally “out of control.”

*On N. Junction Avenue a caller reported that her mailbox had been damaged and her neighbor’s trashcan overturned. The caller said that her daughter received a text-message telling her to “look outside” at 1 this morning

*Extra patrol was requested in Downtown Cave junction due to a recent incident.

*Kyle Robert Falbo, 28, was cited at 7:44 p.m. on a charge of speeding on Redwood Hwy. at Deer Creek Road.

*Suzanne R. Bates, 39, was cited on charges of failure to obey a traffic control device (traffic signal), driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII), and driving uninsured in the 400 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 8:11 p.m. Her blood-alcohol content was listed at .14.

*Marie E. Lockwood, 48, was cited on a charge of DUII on Redwood Hwy. near Gold Canyon Drive at 10:53 p.m.

*It was reported that an 18-year-old man in a black-hooded sweatshirt and red baseball cap was taunting another person through the open door of a bar in Downtown Cave Junction. Extra patrol was requested.

Saturday, May 31

*Some 15 to 20 juvenile persons were said to be “lurking in the shadows” and being rowdy in Downtown CJ at 11:08 p.m.

*A man who’d been restrained by bouncers at a Downtown CJ bar was angry about it and wanted to press charges. Told that no crime had been committed, he also was warned that if he continued to antagonize the staff, he’d be cited for disorderly conduct.

*Following a report of a man and woman fighting in the 32000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 1:21 a.m., Robert Lee Stephens, 29, was cited under a warrant charging failure to appear (FTA) on an original charge of DUII. He was placed in Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass.

*Jacque Dean Baty, 37, was cited on a charge of DWS on Redwood Hwy. at Rockydale Road at 1:59 a.m.

*A 17-year-old boy driving a vehicle was warned at 2:17 a.m. for failure to use turn signals on S. Caves Avenue at Watkins Street.

*A caller reported that a driver was “doing brodies” on the front lawn of her Fir Drive residence at 11:38 a.m..

*In the matter of a property line dispute on Logan Cut Drive, Nina M. Dutton (aka Horseley), 42, was cited on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and menacing. She was lodged in county jail and “trespassed” from her neighbor’s property.

*In the 500 block of Caves Hwy. a woman complained that her grandson and his girlfriend, who were said to be intoxicated and yelling, were unwelcome on her property, and she wanted them removed.

*The driver of a black Jeep Cherokee “turning donuts” on the dirt parking lot behind Oregon Caves Chevron at 6:47 p.m. was said to have caused rocks to be thrown onto a complainant’s vehicle, cracking the windshield.

*On Fir Drive a woman said that another woman came to her home and assaulted her.

*Lisa Marie Heath, 44, was cited on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault and lodged in county jail.

*A group of people in a white Camaro arrived at a residence in the 17000 block of Redwood Hwy. and attempted to pick a fight with people there, a caller reported at 10:57 p.m.

Sunday, June 1

*Birthday celebrants were advised to keep their party out of the roadway in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 2:05 a.m.

*Contacted at Illinois River “Forks” State Park, Robert C. Breakfield, 44, was cited on warrants charging FTA on original charges of second-degree criminal mischief and DWS.

*Gunshots were reported in the 900 block of Caves Hwy. at 10:13 p.m.

Monday, June 2

*Anthony Grebisz, 20, was cited on a charge of interfering with a peace officer during a traffic stop on Redwood Hwy. at 12:17 a.m.

*Linda Sue McMahon, 65, was cited on a charge of DUII in the 23000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 12:17 a.m. The vehicle she’d been driving was impounded.

*After dogs attacked and mauled goats in their pen in the 2000 block of Laurel Road, a pitbull-mix dog was shot, and all the goats were destroyed.

*A caller from a Downtown CJ tavern reported theft of $252 cash after two “scruffy looking” individuals entered at 10:24 a.m. and asked to use the restroom.

*Some 30 transients and their dogs were reported loitering on a parking lot in Downtown CJ to the consternation of business owners. Five people were contacted and “trespassed” from the location.

*Found items including syringes and a bag containing drug paraphernalia, which had been turned in at Illinois Valley Substation, were destroyed.

*A 15-year-old runaway boy was discovered in the 29000 block of Redwood Hwy. and released to his grandmother.

Tuesday, June 3

*In the 23000 block of Redwood Hwy. a man complained that his ex-girlfriend had removed tools and other items from his property. He was told it was a civil issue.

*A man who at 9:44 p.m. had been yelling at customers at a Downtown CJ service station was “trespassed” at the request of the business.
