Friday, May 23

*At 1:14 a.m. a highly intoxicated and “semi-uncooperative” woman was warned for trespassing at a Pinewood Way residence. She also was told to contact her probation officer.

*On Hathaway Drive a woman complained that someone was vandalizing her pump house and turning off her water.

*Prescription medications including some 230 methadone pills were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of W. Watkins Street.

*An “angry” young man was reported standing in traffic in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 1:26 p.m. It was reported that he’d doused himself with gasoline and was threatening to ignite it. He was taken to Three Rivers Community Hospital (TRCH) in Grants Pass on a peace officer’s mental hold.

*Some $500 damage was reported caused by someone who kicked a window and door at a business in the 28000 block of Redwood Hwy.

*After tripping over a sidewalk in Downtown Cave Junction, an intoxicated and disoriented man was given a ride home.

*Michael Wayne Cheek, 20, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license after driving his pickup truck into a ditch on Lakeshore Drive. He was found to have a .15 blood alcohol content (BAC).

*One and a half cases of soft drinks were reported stolen from the bed of a pickup truck at Illinois Valley Visitor Center at 12:07 p.m.

*A 53-year-old man was taken from an address on S. Old Stage Road to TRCH for a possible heroin overdose reported by an anonymous caller around 11:30 p.m. Also contacted was John Timothy Godber, 55, who was cited on a charge of probation violation and transported to Josephine County Jail.

*Jennifer Marie Joy, 32, was contacted at CJ 76 service station and cited for failure to appear (FTA) on charges of identity theft, second- and third-degree theft, menacing, interfering with making a report, and contempt of court. The vehicle she’d been driving was recovered by its owner.

Saturday, May 24

*A Madrona Drive resident reported seeing a man in a white T-shirt, whom she suspected of being a “Peeping Tom,” run past her door and into the woods near her residence at 1 a.m.

*Following a traffic stop on E. River Street at 1:50 a.m., Pearl A. Waddell, 18, was cited on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII); her reported BAC was .11. She also was warned for speeding, and the vehicle she was driving was impounded. A passenger, Jerry Lee Hoffman, 26, was cited for FTA on a charge of DUII.

*An investigation was pending on an apparent assault which sent one man to the hospital from the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 5 p.m. No information about the assailant was available.

*A 41-year-old man was warned for illegal hitchhiking in the 25000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 7:11 p.m.

*All parties were advised of their options following a landlord/tenant dispute on Reeves Creek Road in which the property owner had blocked a driveway, preventing tenants from leaving.

*Some 20 gunshots and the sound of a motorcycle were heard coming from the old city park at the end of S. Old Stage Road at 8:21 p.m.

*Mark William Staines, 41, was cited on charges of menacing and pointing a firearm at another. It was reported at 9:10 p.m. that he was trying to repossess a vehicle on Pinecone Drive.

Sunday, May 25

*A Westside Road resident was warned about his behavior after driving his vehicle through a fence at a business in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy., and reportedly making threats.

*Patrick Randall Lubin, 22, was cited federally on a charge of possession of a controlled substance in the 12200 block of Takilma Road at 6:30 p.m.

*It was reported that there was a bonfire at a residence on E. River Street and the complainant could hear gunshots coming from that location. A deputy stated that he was unable to locate the described activity.

*Melissa Jayne Lowenstein, 41, was cited on a charge of second-degree trespassing after she was located in a shed on a Finch Road property from which she’d reportedly been evicted two months prior.

Monday, May 26

*A group of teen-aged boys, reported to number 15 or 20 individuals, was said to be antagonizing patrons outside a Downtown Cave Junction bar at 12:18 a.m.

*A deputy contacted several young people at the CJ Post Office. It was stated that they might have been involved in an earlier incident nearby. The deputy told them to “go home.”

*Some 15 to 20 teen-aged boys reportedly attacked bar patrons in Downtown CJ at 2:09 a.m. After the assault, the victims phoned 911 and locked themselves inside the bar as the teens circled the establishment for approximately 20 minutes, throwing rocks, pounding on the walls and doors, and damaging vehicles parked on the lot.

*Theft of gasoline from a vehicle in the 400 block of Lakeshore Drive was reported.

*Two reportedly intoxicated men in their mid-20s were said to be “turning donuts” in the grass at Lake Selmac park in their Toyota pickup truck at 3 p.m.

*A man and woman reportedly were stopping traffic on Redwood Hwy. in Downtown CJ and asking for money. The complainant stated that she had to brake quickly to avoid running over the female, who stepped into traffic.

*Two intoxicated people were yelling at customers at a restaurant in the 300 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 7:32 p.m. They were contacted and advised against trespassing.

*A physical altercation between a man and woman was reported on Barlow Road at 8 p.m.

Tuesday, May 27

*Laurel Denise Glenn, 48, was cited on a charge of speeding in a school zone on E. Lister Street at S. Junction Avenue at 8:07 a.m.

*Near the Selma Post Office at 12:10 p.m. a woman was reported yelling at people and causing a disturbance.

*There was a complaint that on Norman Road a boy, 4, was bitten by a dog.

Wednesday, May 28

*A stolen pickup truck was recovered from over an embankment off Thompson Creek Road. After the vehicle was rolled off the road, airbags deployed and the OnStar-equipped truck notified authorities of its location.

*Theft of several items and extensive damage to the interior of a residence in the 37000 block of Redwood Hwy was reported.

*A tow truck with a vehicle in tow was pulled over in the 500 block of S. Redwood Hwy. The operator, James Breedlove, 33, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS) and warned for failure to use tow lights. Also, Michael J. Phillips, 37, was cited for FTA on a charge of DUII.

*In the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 7:11 p.m., Jennifer A. O’Neil, 31, was cited on charges of having no driver’s license, and no valid insurance. She was warned for lack of a front license plate and expired registration. Passenger Matthew L. Rieman, 35, was cited on a charge of probation violation. The vehicle was impounded.

*Following a domestic disturbance in the 21000 block of Redwood Hwy., Anthony Grebisz, 47, was cited on a charge of fourth-degree assault. He also was cited on Del Norte County warrants charging FTA and failure to pay court fines. Grebisz was lodged in county jail.

*At 9:45 p.m. deputies began pursuit of a stolen white pickup truck from Cave Junction out Caves Hwy. to White Schoolhouse Road, back toward CJ and on to Kerby before the vehicle was wrecked near the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. The suspect eluded capture.
