Friday, May 16

*Someone on Madrona Drive was reportedly outside screaming “I’ll kill them all!” but no disturbance was located when a deputy responded.

*A light flickering on and off in a travel trailer in the 28000 block of Redwood Hwy. was thought to be from an intruder but was attributed to “faulty wiring.”

*A verbal altercation between a man and a woman in Kerby was reported at 2:23 a.m.

*Someone’s bicycle was found on S. Caves Avenue and taken to Community Bible Church for safekeeping.

*Following an incident involving a motor vehicle accident at Illinois River Forks State Park, a man was transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital and a dog taken to the vet for injuries. A report was to follow for failure to leave name at the scene of an accident and second degree assault.

*Rims, tires and a camper shell were reported found at the end of Fernwood Drive. It was added to BLM’s list of stuff to clean up.

*An Illinois Valley High School student was found to be in possession of marijuana, an administrator reported.

*Mathew Wayne Watkins, 20, was cited on a charge of third-degree assault and lodged in Josephine County Jail.

*Two men were reportedly assaulted at Seats Dam on Airport Drive at 10:48 p.m. The caller stated he had to “run and hide” in the woods from a dozen assailants.

*On Holland Loop a man was said sleeping in a crumpled heap under the “Fort Briggs” sign. He was rousted and told to move on.

Saturday, May 17

*A group of teenagers were reported drinking alcohol in front of a business in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 2:29 a.m.

*On Caves Avenue a woman said her younger brother slapped her.

*An intoxicated woman was using profanity and being disruptive near the baseball field at Jubilee Park. After repeated attempts to ask nicely that she leave failed, a “rather upset” man began yelling at her, and that seemed to work.

*All parties involved in a disagreement about a vehicle in Selma were advised of their options. The car itself was chained to a tree, and could not be moved.

Sunday, May 18

*Stefanne Kirk, 20, was cited on charges of disorderly conduct, minor in possession of alcohol and interfering with making a police report after a verbal disturbance with a family member early this morning.

*In CJ a very strong chemical order was reported coming from a house where residents were known to stay up late playing heavy metal music.

*In Selma a 13-year-old girl who’d run away with her boyfriend was returned home and her parents advised of their options.

*A Cave Junction restaurant owner reported theft of beer and a cash register.

*Daniel Troy Harwood, 17, of Madrona Drive, was cited on charges of driving while suspended and no insurance.

*A caller said a young man was on his way to Jubilee Park with an ax and a knife. One person was contacted who’d been swinging a stick, but he had no “malicious intent.”

*The driver of a red van was said peeling out and causing a lot of smoke in Kerby at 10:52 p.m.

Monday, May 19

*Four wheel drive vehicles were reported trespassing on private property in Selma to access Deer Creek

*Two solar-powered yard lights were reported stolen from a Madrona Drive residence.

*Several items, including a rototiller, were reported stolen from a Crooks Creek Road property.

*Two young women reported that they’d been assaulted by a 20-year-old man while they were fighting another woman at Seats Dam.

*A woman reported that her former roommate had sold some of her belongings without permission.

*On Hays Cut Off Road a man complained that his neighbor was running a diesel-powered water pump night and day.

*An intoxicated man was said to be driving his car over satellite dishes and other things on a property in the 900 block of Caves Hwy.

Tuesday, May 20

*Some of his belongings, including a briefcase with important papers, were reported stolen by a former tenant of a Deer Creek Road residence.

*An intoxicated man caused a disturbance at a Cave Junction convenience store and then drove away in a blue van, a caller said at 6:07 p.m.

*In Downtown CJ a woman was reportedly assaulted by a man who made verbal threats to kill her.

*No one was located when a deputy responded to a cell phone call at 11:07 p.m. from Illinois River Forks State Park.

Wednesday, May 21

*An elderly Dick George Road resident said a survey crew was demanding access to her property and threatening to return with a backhoe to dig up the corner if she did not let them on. The survey crew agreed to use just a metal detector.

*A stolen Toyota pickup was recovered from a trail off Fernwood Lane.

*Brian Pope, 17, was cited on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault and lodged at the Juvenile Justice Center in Grants Pass.

*Jacob Aaron Dolph, 20, was cited on a charge of speeding (85 in a 55 mph) and warned about failure to carry and present a license, warned for driving without insurance and warned for failure to register.

*Some sort of disturbance including gunshots was heard in the 28000 block of Redwood hwy. at 11:45 p.m.

Thursday, May 22

*Parents were arguing about custody of a child in the 2600 block of Holland Loop at 1:53 a.m.

*Jamie Joann Newberry, 23, was arrested on Hogue Drive on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, first-degree criminal mischief, and unlawful possession and delivery of methamphetamine. Also, Kevin Louise Cleman, 50, was cited on a charge of probation violation. Both were lodged in Josephine County Jail.

*On Hays Cut Off Road a landlord complained that tenants rewired a utility service box to avoid payments.

*The driver of a white Oldsmobile was cited on a charge of DUII in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 8:40 p.m. She was also warned about careless driving and driving without an operator’s permit.

*An Airport Drive resident complained about the speed of traffic past his property.
