Thursday, March 27

*A shelf, which collapsed inside a store in the 200 block of N. Redwood Hwy., was likely the cause of an alarm which sounded at 1:01 a.m.

*After he phoned from Downtown Cave Junction to report that he was having suicidal thoughts and hadn’t slept in 36 hours, a 33-year-old man from North Carolina was taken to Three Rivers Community Hospital (TRCH) in Grants Pass on a peace officer’s mental hold.

*Business checks were reported stolen from a pickup truck, a CJ resident reported.

*Four men were reported fist-fighting on a Downtown CJ parking lot at 7:41 p.m. Before long, a crowd of approximately 15 spectators and passers-by in cars had stopped to watch. The fight was broken up and the combatants left before deputies could arrive.

*It was reported that a man had been sitting in his vehicle off Old Stage Road, drinking something and watching people at a nearby business.

*Some sort of disturbance was reported behind some businesses in the 200 block of N. Redwood Hwy.

*A deputy on foot patrol at Jubilee Park reported hearing gunshots from the west side of Hwy. 199.

Friday, March 28

*Joshua William Rosenberry, 23, was cited on a charge of VBR (violation of the basic rule/driving too fast for conditions) at milepost 31 on Redwood Hwy. at 6:43 p.m.

*Reportedly clocked at 80 mph in a 55 zone, Christopher Kevin Nicoletti, 22, was cited on a charge of speeding at milepost 31 on Redwood Hwy. at 6:49 p.m.

*A vacant residence in the 2000 block of Caves Hwy. was reported burglarized. The caller was said to have suspect information.

*Following pursuit of a reported stolen vehicle on Rockydale Road around 9 p.m., Jerry Lee Tibbs, 47, was lodged in Josephine County Jail on charges of attempted eluding, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (UUMV), unlawful possession of methamphetamine, attempted assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and first-degree criminal trespassing.

*A vehicle sped from his property onto his son’s when he returned home, said a Dick George Road resident. A deputy and the complainant found the vehicle occupants, who at first refused to leave, believing themselves to be on BLM land.

*A physical disturbance was reported in the 200 block of S. Redwood Hwy.

*A stolen chainsaw was recovered by a BLM officer during an earlier chase.

Saturday, March 29

*Several drivers in the vicinity of Redwood Hwy. and Westside Road were warned for defective lights and other minor missteps.

*Deputies responded to the south end of Downtown CJ where it was reported at 10:06 p.m. that a fight involving five to eight persons was under way. Cited on charges of fourth-degree assault were Ronald Leroy Goodwin, 19; Erika Rose Sorenson, 21; Victoria Danielle Lopez, 22; and Sarah Victoria Houston, 19.

Sunday, March 30

*Just after 1 a.m. a man claimed that several people assaulted him on Illinois River Road, and that he might have broken ribs. American Medical Response transported the man to TRCH, and while they noticed he’d been drinking, observed no signs of assault or injury.

*Five golf carts were removed from Illinois Valley Golf Course, and extensive damage to the putting green and one cart were reported. Two carts were recovered in Cave Junction after an apparently destructive “joy ride.” A report was pending for UUV, first-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree burglary.

*A caller reported driving past a man kicking and beating a woman on the ground alongside Takilma Road at 10:15 a.m.

*Trevor Lee Walton, 19, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license on Redwood Hwy. at Patton Bar Road at 11:13 p.m.

*Following a motorized and foot pursuit on S. Old Stage Road around midnight, a motorcycle was impounded, but the driver escaped.

Monday, March 31

*Theft of a gun cabinet and contents from a McMullen Creek Road residence was reported.

*Brian Paul Shaw, 33, was lodged in county jail on a charge of violating a restraining order.

*A man found unconscious in Jubilee Park at 5:24 p.m. was confirmed deceased.

*On Page Creek Road a woman said that an employee’s ex-girlfriend was yelling profanities. The caller was advised of her options.

Tuesday, April 1

*A break-in was reported at Dave’s Outdoor Power Equipment at 2 a.m.

*Four persons were warned against trespassing in the 200 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 4 p.m., and one man was warned about disorderly conduct.

*In the 30000 block of Redwood Hwy. a woman reported people trespassing in her shop building.

*On Cobalt Drive a man said that his neighbor shot his dog in the neck, but deputies said it was unfounded as a crime and seemed to be a civil problem.

*Canned goods for a food drive were taken when thieves ransacked a business in the 200 block of N. Redwood Hwy.

Wednesday, April 2

*Contacted for speeding and making large waves at Lake Selmac at 2 p.m., a boater said that he was testing the craft after recent mechanical work.

*Following a report of a woman brandishing a gun on Althouse Road, Debra Ann Bergstad, 53, was lodged in county jail on a charge of domestic menacing (pointing a firearm at another).

Thursday, April 3

*A highly intoxicated woman showed up and began causing problems, a Shadowbrook Drive resident reported just after midnight.

*Debra A. Evens, 57, was cited on a charge of failure to obey school bus safety lights on N. Redwood Hwy. at E. River Street at 2:31 p.m.

*On E. River Street a woman said that her neighbor insulted her and hit her in the chest with a wooden stake.

*A caller reported witnessing drugs being dealt from a car parked behind a business in Downtown CJ at 10:46 a.m.

*Some $3,000 worth of tools, tool boxes and a generator were reported stolen from a shed on Lone Mountain Road.

*Tools and lawn care equipment were reported stolen from a Reeves Creek Road property.

*Caryn Gumaer, 43, was cited on charges of DUII and refusing a breath test in the 17000 block of Redwood Hwy at 6:32 p.m.

*A possibly intoxicated driver was reported on Shadywood Drive.

*A Cornett Drive resident said that a neighbor was shooting .BBs at his house and that he could hear them strike his patio roof.

*On Queen of Bronze Road, a resident complained that her neighbor had been shooting across the roadway into her yard.

*Montgomery Robert Leach, 21, was cited on a charge of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and warned for failure to signal in the 500 block of Deer Creek Road at 11:24 p.m.
