Thursday, Feb. 14
*On Old Stage Road an attempt was made to execute a writ of assistance to obtain a child from a father.
Sunday, Feb. 17
*There was a 10:58 a.m. call from Selma about a man asked to leave a residence “throwing a fit.” OSP was asked by Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) to respond because the caller said a young child was present, but the man left before a response.
Tuesday, Feb. 19
*His ex-girlfriend is the suspect in the reported burglary of a man’s Kerby residence. He didn’t want to file charges; he just wants her to remove her stuff with a civil resolution.
*Megan J. McCauley, 17, was cited near Kerby on a charge of VBR (violation of the basic rule/driving too fast for conditions) at 7:46 a.m.
*For some reason, a deputy checked the area of Lone Mountain Road and Naue Way at 8:27 a.m.
*There was a complaint from the 9000 block of Takilma Road about an evicted person taking photos while on a private drive.
*Harassment, rather than assault, was said to be the case on Holland Loop after a man said at 5:34 p.m. that his girlfriend punched his face while she was holding keys. He did not want to pursue charges.
*In Selma at 7:11 p.m. a man “had something hiding in his pocket” and was said to be threatening those at a Briar Lane residence. His girlfriend had that day ripped up their marriage certificate for a planned ceremony. It was determined that the man did not have a gun, but wanted to retrieve some items. He was “trespassed” from the location.
*At a Selma business, a man who had been “trespassed,” and who seemed to be under the influence, also seemed disoriented.
*A “blaring stereo” was reported on Westside Road at 7:43 p.m.
*Someone was said to be “acting crazy.”
Wednesday, Feb. 20
*Subsequent to an audible alarm at Stevereno’s Family Restaurant at 1:06 a.m., no problem was located.
*His estranged wife smashed his cell phone, said a man in Cave Junction.
*Second-degree criminal mischief was noted at Lake Selmac after a county employee noted that water lines had been damaged by some nut.
*Damage to a fence by a tree cut down by someone in Selma was reported at 12:30 p.m. Later, the complainant phoned again to say that there was no damage.
*JCSO volunteers were to be advised about an abandoned vehicle found near the historic Waldo Cemetery.
*When a woman went to her 2007 pickup truck from a CJ business, she said that she found a cracked windshield and a spent bullet on her dashboard.
*In rural CJ, one of those ne’er do wells around here had entered two vehicles, taking the keys to one, and a reported $620 worth of items.
*Trespassing by a man on a motorcycle was reported in the 100 block of Illinois River Road by a resident, who said the cyclist left when confronted.
*That “blaring stereo” was the basis for a 6:43 p.m. complaint about a continuing problem on Westside Road. The complainant said that he closed his windows, but could still hear the music.
*Following a report about a “suspicious vehicle” with trash cans in it at Merlot Drive and Cottage Park Drive, the owner came on a retrieval mission. It turned out to be a stolen vehicle.
*Dogs barking “for four hours” were reported in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 7:57 p.m. The complainant was frustrated, but was going to start logging the canine vocalizations, and was grateful for the suggestion.
Thursday, Feb. 21
*Today and during other days in this report, some drivers were stopped for equipment violations, mostly defective lighting of some sort, and issued warnings, including some for speeding, throughout the valley at various times.
*Following a report that a van with dark windows with flashers activated was northbound from Selma, the vehicle stopped at Wilderville scale. Other vehicles had been getting out of the way. It turned out to be a Pelican Bay Prison van whose driver had accidentally flipped the switch. He stopped to apologize, as he had been monitoring JCSO radio traffic.
*A “rolling domestic” situation on Caves Hwy. was found to not involve a crime. The “male half” was to return the vehicle to Cave Junction.
*After hitting a man on his head with a statue in rural Grants Pass, Cynthia Martells, 47, was charged with fourth-degree assault. The man did not want to file charges.
*While his Honda was parked at a CJ restaurant said a man at 5 p.m., some scofflaw banged into it with his vehicle, and then left without bothering to say boo. A report was filed for failure to leave name at the scene of an accident.
*From Selma came a report of “an unusual occurrence” between a man and his son. It was found that the man had kept his son home from school and that the “unusual occurrence” was that the dad’s “truck came open.”
*Civil options were to be pursued in a Holland Loop situation involving a man making unwanted contact with a woman, who wants to pick up her stuff from his residence.
*Extra patrol was logged at 7:03 p.m. at Illinois River “Forks” State Park.
*Injuries to a man outside a store in Murphy were said to have been caused because he was “attached” (attacked?), apparently by a pit bull.
*Cynthia M. Shaul, 38, was cited in Cave Junction on a charge of not having a driver license, and warned for having a white light to the rear.
*Some sort of civil dispute involving a pickup truck was reported by a man in a Grants Pass motel, who seemed to indicate that the vehicle had been taken from a CJ café.
