A matter of trust
From Wally Aiken
Kerby
I wouldn’t normally write a letter to the editor of a newspaper for which I work, but in this situation I feel it necessary.
In one of the first articles I wrote for Illinois Valley News, I included information I sincerely believed to be accurate, but I have since learned I was entirely wrong in that belief. The story wherein I made the errors involved the Barlow/Copeland/Bill Peterson situation with Little Elm Ranch. Actually I was pleased to discover that Peterson was involved because five years ago when I first returned to Oregon I met him and developed a unique bond of trust with him.
Therefore, when he assured me that the Little Elm Ranch operation was the simple digging of a pond to be used for irrigation, I believed him. When people made derogatory comments about Peterson, I defended him. I knew him as a person, I would explain; and besides, I had a unique bond of trust with him.
Had I dug further into claims of an agricultural pond, I would have discovered what private citizens discovered. The claim was, I believe now, an attempt to circumvent due process of land-use planning and an attempt to slip an active mine into an agricultural area. It took the effort of several private persons to bring to light my mistake.
I wish, in this letter, to publicly apologize for this mistake to those citizens and to the entire readership of I.V. News. The spreading of what now appears to be a misleading claim is my fault entirely and my responsibility. There can be no equivocation on that point.
All I can do now is promise I will make every attempt to ensure that this never happens again.
‘America on the Brink’
From Ronald Greene

This is an urgent warning and letter of love. Sadly, the ministers have completely betrayed their trusts and have failed to warn their unsuspecting congregations of the impending catastrophe.
This is a life-or-death warning about a coming global political and economical disaster which will affect us all horribly. This Bible warning is found in Daniel Chapter 8, entire chapter, and portrays a military battle that has an ancient as well as a 21st century application.
The 21st century application involves a ram (Islam) and a he-goat which depicts the Western world (verses 3-7). This application of this prophesy points to the United States (the Notable Great Horn - verse 5) leading a coalition of its allies against the ram’s first horn (modern-day Iraq) and afterward leading a second coalition of its allies (probably France, Britain, Israel) in a battle completely by air, with naval assistance, against the ram’s second, more powerful horn, 21st century Persia (Iran, see verse 3).
The Pentagon recently confirmed its plan for a continuous two-to-three week, night-and-day bombing of Iran’s oil, manufacturing, nuclear, docking, naval, missile and warehousing facilities. Special 15-ton seeker-bombs are being prepared to break through the 60 feet of solid rock which covers Iran’s vast underground nuclear facilities.
Shortly after America’s attack and defeat of Iran, the Great Horn of the world’s #1 Superpower will be broken. Economic collapse will occur, which will domino-effect and will almost immediately become a global collapse. The chaos and fear of the nations will be beyond imagination.
It is then that the Luciferian plot formulated millenniums ago to establish a One World Government will become a reality. The separated pyramid on the back of the one dollar bill will at last merge together and become one, meaning a One World Governmental System, broken into 10 regions (Rev. 17:12) as promised by President FDR in 1933 and recently verbally updated twice by Daddy Bush after the first Iraq war in 1991: Novus Ordo Seclorum.
The American people are in for an overwhelming surprise. The air war over Iran will be the signal to buy life-or-death necessities, because after the collapse nothing will be available.
Sabbath view
From Joann Wulf

Re: John Bazen letter, “Marks & Sabbath.” (Illinois Valley News, Jan. 23).
God’s seventh-day Sabbath was made in the Garden of Eden on the seventh day of the week. God’s seventh-day Sabbath existed long before the birth of the Jewish Nation.
Moses was given the 10 Commandments, and the seventh-day Sabbath was placed at the center. God began the Sabbath Commandment with “Remember” to keep it holy. God says the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. (Mark 2:27).
Today people lobby to get bills passed to assure the Christian world that people will rest on the day chosen by man to rest. Attempts will never prevail because God, the creator of Heaven and Earth, has spoken.
Christ died on the sixth day of the week. The Jewish people would not be pleased if the Romans left His body on the cross during the seventh-day Sabbath. (John 19:31).
The Romans removed Christ’s body before the start of the holy Sabbath. Jesus’ closest followers rested on the day that God appointed and blessed. Jesus himself rested in his sepulcher during the seventh-day Sabbath. The people appear unaware of any change made to God’s Fourth Commandment at the cross.
After Jesus returned to his father the disciples went about the Lord’s business after Sabbath. Paul is recorded in the New Testament preaching to Jews and Gentiles on the Sabbath days until his death. Paul also taught the importance of keeping the Commandments.
According to Bible records, God’s people kept the seventh-day Sabbath holy before and after the death of Jesus Christ.
Ron Paul record cited
From Terry Hamel
Salem
There are now two Democratic and four Republican presidential candidates remaining. Of the six, only Ron Paul stands for American ideals and has the record to prove it.
Others voted to fund the war against Iraq, a nation that has no army, navy or air force and never threatened us, yet costs taxpayers $8 billion annually. These others voted for the misnamed Patriot Act which strips ambiguous “enemy combatants” of their right to a trial; and voted for the Real ID act that strips citizen privacy while restricting their entrance into a federal building without it.
Ron Paul has voted consistently against all these bills.
He is a true statesman, having fought for American principles in Congress for 20 years. He is also a student of free market solutions; has the agreement of former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan; and is the only presidential candidate talking about fixing our ailing economy.
Of course, one would expect a perfect root diagnosis from a successful physician and former U.S. Air Force flight surgeon.
These are but a few reasons I advocate Ron Paul for president. I am a first-time voter who has gone from feeling helpless to helpful, spreading the message of peace, prosperity and liberty in the states as elections are held.
I use my own time and money, but the inspiration belongs to Ron Paul. I encourage a serious look at his solutions and find out why he is capturing a third of the delegates in multiple state elections.
We want to hear from you!
