Bob's Corner
From our weekly issue dated February 13, 2008
With two house-cats, three garage cats, and one visitor cat on the back deck, one would think that the fur would fly at our home. One would be about half-right. Not to mention front-porch Bingo the Ancient, our mixed-breed doggy.
Yes, we have our hands full. Not to mention our poop scoops. Funny to us is that the two indoor kitties, Jellirabbit and Flint, think that the less-expensive cat food is tastier than the higher-priced variety. So when we open the closet to get the food to feed the garage crew, Jellirabbit invariably charges in, and we have a battle to get him out. He is tenacious.
He also likes to demonstrate his clawing prowess on our couch. However, Jan points out that we purchased that particular couch set because it’s difficult to tell if it’s been clawed. I still cringe though, when I hear the sound. Jellirabbit has a pink nose and big ears, besides being Jellical, which is why we named him the way we did. But one member of our family insists on saying that the critter actually has a pig nose. We disagree, although sometimes he (the cat) eats like a pig.
Flint, or Flinty or Flintster, is a Bengal look-alike. His full name is Flint Eastwood, but he doesn’t act like one of Clint Eastwood’s characters. No, he’s quite gentle, except if you open a container of yogurt. He loves the stuff, and will get right in your face if you don’t offer him some. He likes to lick the spoon.
By the way, we’d like to find homes for the garage trio: Bubba, Maui and Deckster. Anyone out there looking for a wonderful feline?
