Monday, Dec. 24

*At 12:35 a.m. near Lake Selmac, John J. Ruda, 22, was cited on charges of driving with a suspended license (DWS) and unlawful possession of a firearm.

*People in camouflage clothing were sneaking around on her property, stealing madrone wood and tearing things up, a Selma woman reported at 2:30 a.m.

*Some $200 cash, two checkbooks, a TV and VCR were stolen from Illinois Valley Praise Center in the 28000 block of Redwood Hwy. Another $600 damage to a file cabinet and window also was reported.

*A small box containing paperwork was stolen from a the trunk of a vehicle in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. overnight.

*A vehicle was apparently driven through a gate at Southern Oregon Sanitations’ Kerby Transfer Station during the weekend, causing an estimated $1,000 damage.

Tuesday, Dec. 25

*At 3:15 a.m. an Oregonian newspaper delivery person, who had picked up a young blonde, female hitch-hiker, reported that his silver van and newspapers had been stolen by the hitch-hiker from a Downtown Cave Junction location. The vehicle last was seen headed south on Redwood Hwy. There was no deputy to respond.

*A fat man in a red suit was reported dashing throughout the valley.

*At milepost 31 on Redwood Hwy. Brandi L. Miller, 20, was cited on a charge of DWS, and her vehicle was impounded.

Wednesday, Dec. 26

*On Page Mountain, Earl Mallory Desomber, 41, was cited on a charge of DWS and warned for failure to display his Sno-Park permit.

*On Millie Street a woman reported harassment by someone knocking on her door. Furthermore, a potato chip canister with several “inappropriate” messages inside was located.

Thursday, Dec. 27

*A propane tank valued at $30 was reported stolen from the bed of a pickup truck on Deer Creek Road.

*Some $10,000 in fraudulent Internet purchases were made using his debit card issued by a Cave Junction bank, a man reported.

*A woman reported that her son, David Joy, 41, had admitted to using her credit card without her knowledge to make some $2,300 in purchases. He was cited on a charge of fraudulent use of a credit card.
