Friday, Dec. 7
*On Nov. 21 a 4-by-8 foot utility trailer with piled-high trash was reported abandoned on Kerby Mainline near the sign for the Southern Oregon Sanitation transfer station. It sat there, flagged for towing, until it was discovered that the towing company would not haul a trailer full of trash. Josephine County Public Works was notified Dec. 6.
*Just after midnight a man who was said to have been stabbed in his back at a Downtown Cave Junction establishment was admitted to Three Rivers Community Hospital (TRCH) in Grants Pass for observation. A report on second-degree assault was pending.
*On W. River Street a 19-year-old man was said by his girlfriend to be cutting himself.
*A driver reported being run off Kendall Road by a two-door BMW at 11:47 a.m. No damage was reported, but a tow was necessary.
*In the 200 block of W. Watkins Street a man reported having been assaulted by “one of the transients that hang around.” He received stitches.
*On S. Junction Avenue at Lister Street at 9:21 p.m. Brandon Price, 23, was cited on a charge of having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and warned for failure to use a turn signal.
*At 10:07 p.m. in the 100 block of Caves Avenue, Bre Barnes, 14, and Rhiannon Quall, 15, each were cited on a charge of minor in possession of alcohol. Barnes also was cited on a charge of driving without an operator’s permit, and the vehicle she was in was impounded. Tiffany Newman, 16, was cited for providing a vehicle to an unlicensed driver.
*Someone was seen wandering the area behind Illinois Valley High School, but a deputy located no one.
Saturday, Dec. 8
*Trash cans and miscellaneous signs were found scattered across Redwood Hwy. at 2:39 a.m. in the middle of Downtown Cave Junction.
*At 3:15 a.m. a vehicle on W. Watkins Street was found with a door ajar. A deputy secured the vehicle, but was unable to contact the owner.
*Someone in a van bearing no license plate might have been involved in shining lights into houses in the 30000 block of Redwood Hwy.
*Some teen-aged girls were warned against mischief-making behind Robbie’s Auto Care Center around 7:30 p.m.
*Someone in a large pickup truck with a Christmas tree in the bed ran over a Stop sign near Holland Store.
*Nisha A. Steel, 19, was cited on a charge of speeding on Holland Loop at 9:03 p.m. (68 mph in a 55 zone).
*Robert Norman Kells, 17, was cited on charges of speeding and driving uninsured on Laurel Road at 9:21 p.m. His vehicle was impounded.
Sunday, Dec. 9
*A Glendon Road resident claimed that her husband hit and pushed her. Both parties were counseled and agreed to stay away from one another for the evening.
*A woman was transported on a peace officer’s mental hold after turning circles in the yard in her sedan and other inexplicable behavior at a Dick George Road residence.
*On Happy Camp Road a man was warned for not having his Christmas tree permit visible. And at Page Mountain Snow Park, Teresa Dyer was cited for lack of a Sno-Park permit and warned for having her dog off leash.
*Wesley Avery Propps, 42, was cited for driving with a suspended license.
Monday, Dec. 10
*While mother was away from the residence, a 12-year-old Caves Hwy. resident broke a window, and his sister phoned at 12:03 a.m. to say that he was “going crazy.” The situation had calmed down when mother was contacted later.
*Sometime during the week prior, a vacant house on Wells Drive was burglarized.
*A Caves Hwy. woman complained that a man who lives on the same property had been making inappropriate comments and watching her through her window.
*Someone was caught on surveillance video boosting two 30-packs of beer from Shop Smart Food Warehouse.
Tuesday, Dec. 11
*Theft of mail was reported from a bank of mailboxes in the 8000 block of Deer Creek Road.
*A fence was damaged and two propane tanks stolen from a business in the 27000 block of Redwood hwy.
*Two people were contacted at construction lots off Laurel Road at 8:42 p.m. When “more appropriately attired,” they were advised to move on.
*A girl, 14, was taken to TRCH on a peace officer’s mental hold after she reported herself intoxicated.
*An assault was reported at Jubilee Park. When contacted, one man said that he’d been wrestling with some others and that no assault had taken place.
