Patricia Heller, a Cave Junction watercolorist and oil painter, is the featured Artist of the Month for November at Sterling Savings Bank in Downtown Cave Junction.
The event is sponsored by Illinois Valley Fine Artists Inc.
Heller’s painting titled Stormy Skies at the bank is a result of a workshop she attended during summer this year with famed watercolorist Charles Reid, in Bend. She is a juried member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon, and the Valley Watercolor Society in Encino, Calif.
Other paintings at the bank are from valley scenes that she has developed since moving here two years ago. More of her work can be seen at Patriciaheller.info. They also can be seen at Changes Art Gallery in Cave Junction, at the Southern Oregon Guild Gallery in Kerby, and at Harper-Howell Gallery in Grants Pass.
Heller’s hope is to combine bodily motion elements with connective color to create paintings to be enjoyed by viewers. Creating art priced to be affordable to as many people as possible also is her goal.
Advertisment:
Painting with the I.V. Fine Artists’ groups afford her the camaraderie of other artists. She also appreciates the “gentle and worthwhile critiques” of the artistic group and their varying perceptions.
The group meets Mondays (except holidays) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the RCC Kerby Belt Bldg. Phone 592-5296 for more information. Coffee and light refreshments are available to anyone who wishes to participate.
