Tuesday, Oct. 2

*Deputies were told that a woman in Grants Pass, who packs a .38-caliber pistol in her purse, entered a home and took stereo equipment.

Thursday, Oct. 4

*Following an audible alarm at a shop on Happy Camp Road, the alarm company was advised that there would be no deputy response.

*Danny N. Kumar, 18, was arrested on charges of second-degree burglary and second-degree theft at the forest service’s Illinois Valley Ranger District site.

*When a Cave Junction businessman tried to open a bank account, he found that he apparently was the victim of ID theft, as someone had opened an account with his name on it in Florida.

*A CJ landlord said that when he served an eviction notice, the man became “verbally threatening.”

*Theft of a rifle was reported by a California man, who was at a CJ bar and said he would get video of the thief.

*“White side-light to the rear” caused a warning to a motorist at Hwy. 199 and Laurel Road.

*Clifford T. Allen Jr., 21, was cited at 8:21 p.m. on S. Kerby Ave. on a charge of driving while suspended (DWS), and warned for failure to signal and having a white light to his rear.

*Some dork broke a window at Coyote Coffee in Selma, apparently in an attempt to break in, it was reported at 9:45 p.m.

*Although a state trooper was told that a truck with a “Haz Mat” sign was pooping stuff out its rear door on Hwy. 199 near milepost 26, no stuff was located.

*Right about midnight, a man on Holland Loop reported that his ex-girlfriend kicked in his door, ripped the phone off the wall, tried to attack a woman with him, and pulled his hair and hurt his neck.

Friday, Oct. 5

*A California man, reported to be a missing person and said to be hostile toward law enforcement, and emotionally disturbed, was contacted outside a CJ restaurant at 12:38 a.m. He was not a danger to himself or others, and was asked to phone his girlfriend.

*Someone reported that a man was “acting strangely” at Hwy. 199 and Reeves Creek Road at 11:43 a.m. He was not wearing shoes or a shirt.

*Reported as a runaway juvenile person, a girl, 16, with a pierced belly button, was thought to be living with her boyfriend on Kerby Mainline.

*In O’Brien, a “repo man” did his thing for a 2006 car.

*“No tail-lights” on a 1980s car was the complaint from Hay’s Hill at 8:07 p.m.

*In the 4000 block of Hwy. 46 a woman was warned about telephonic harassment after another woman said she’d received obscene calls, which the first woman denied and was “very agitated.”

*Near milepost 26 of Hwy. 199 a man, apparently in a car, was warned about speeding and having expired tags.

*Near milepost 31 of Hwy. 199, a woman was warned about speeding.

*Burglary at a shop on Krauss Lane was reported, although the indication was that scrap metal might have been taken.

*Community Oriented Policing (COP) was conducted at 9:50 p.m. at Illinois River “Forks” State Park.

*Following a traffic stop near milepost 30 of Hwy. 199, a man was cited on charges of DWS and no insurance. His vehicle was impounded. Two men were in the car, and it was unclear which was cited.

*OSP was advised about an unfortunate deer struck by a car in the 18000 block of Hwy. 199. The animal, still alive, was in a ditch.

*COP was conducted at Lorna Byrne Middle School and Evergreen Elementary School around midnight.

Saturday, Oct. 6

*Some sort of sexual abuse was reported on Kerby Mainline at 1:19 a.m.

*In Kerby, a man was “delusional and acting crazy,” throwing items all over the ground, including loaded firearms. He voluntarily was taken to a hospital under a peace officer’s mental hold.

*In Selma at 10:05 p.m. a boy, 15, was “beyond parental control.” He was accused of shoving his mother, hurting one of her arms, and spitting on her. He was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center in Grants Pass. It was not known if his mother would file assault charges.

Sunday, Oct. 7

*Near milepost 18 of Hwy. 199, car parts and a real estate sign were on the roadway.

*On Westside Road a “repo man” was in action to take back a 2000 vehicle.

*Someone took a car without permission from Bear Creek Road, the owner reported.

*On Rockydale Road, Dennis R. Austin was issued a federal citation for possession of a controlled substance/less than an ounce of marijuana.

*Failing to stay on her lane resulted in a warning to a woman on Rockydale Road.

*A driver on Takilma Road was warned about speed, meaning that he was driving too fast.

*Trespassing was reported on Addison Lane at 8:34 p.m. when a man wouldn’t leave a woman’s house. She just wanted to let deputies know in case of subsequent problems.

*At 10:50 p.m. on Addison Lane a couple was arguing, and she wanted him “trespassed” for the night. They agreed to separate for the night; she left with a child. There was no crime.

*COP again was conducted at Lorna Byrne and Evergreen schools at 10 p.m.

*A woman was warned about racing around in CJ at 10:27 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 8

*The couple on Addison Lane again were having problems at 11:55 p.m. The man said he’d leave and calm down.

*“Forks” Park again was the site for COP at 31 past midnight.

*There was a landlord/tenant dispute in the 28000 block of Hwy. 199, apparently in connection with a light bulb.

*COP was conducted in the 36000 block of Hwy. 199 at 12:57 p.m.

*In Takilma a man reported theft of methadone tablets from his vehicle.

*Some sort of overhead line was down in the 600 block of Hwy. 46. A complainant said it was caused by a truck carrying an RV.

*Someone complained on Gamay Court that two vehicles had been parked on the street for a week.

*Two girls yelling at each other in Jubilee Park caused a man to report a “suspicious incident.”

*A small fire in the pavilion at “Forks” Park was extinguished at 6:47 p.m.

*Tracy Lane was thought to be the location of an intoxicated driver, but he wasn’t located.

*In O’Brien a father said that his daughter hit and kicked him. She said that he punched her. It eventually was determined that the incident stemmed from a dog peeing on the carpet.

*In the 28000 block of Hwy. 199 a woman said that someone has used her ATM card without permission.

*A Ken Rose Lane boy is the suspect in an incident at Hwy. 46 and Barnes Way during which a complainant said that gunshots were fired toward a residence from a moving car.
