‘TOM & MOM’ - Every fall all those kittens born in the spring begin having their own litters. That’s right -- a cat can begin breeding at 4-months, and that’s why three Jackson County animal welfare organizations and many of the veterinary offices in our region have joined to save lives this October by offering discounted spay/neuter certificates during the Tom and Mom campaign. Due to joint funding by SNYP, FOTAS, and JCACC, a cat spay or neuter is only $25. “That’s a great price and you can get as many certificates as you need,” sponsors said. Certificates can be purchased beginning Monday, Oct. 1 at Pet Country in Medford and Ashland Grange-Coops, and Medford and Grants Pass Mini-Pet Marts. Visit spayneuter.org for details or phone 858-3325. And there’s an ad in this issue.
