Friday, Sept. 14

*Contacted just before 1 a.m. in Cave Junction in the 400 block of S. Redwood Hwy., Shanna Steiner, 26, was arrested on a Grants Pass warrant charging failure to comply with terms of probation. She was lodged in Josephine County Jail.

*At 8:30 a.m. an 11-year-old boy who’d made himself unwelcome again was reported trespassing at a Downtown CJ eatery.

*While attending a recent event in Cave Junction, a man said a woman deliberately threw a beer can at him, a male complainant said. It struck him in the chest, he noted.

*After he threw a beer can at a neighbor, a 54-year-old man on Hogue Drive, described as “disruptive,” was voluntarily transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital for evaluation.

*A Thompson Creek Road resident was upset to find her mailbox filled with rocks and a note, sticky with bubble gum, which read: “I hate You.” She confronted the neighbor kids, prompting their mother to phone 911 to complain that her children were being verbally harassed by a trespassing neighbor.

*An Upper Deer Creek Road resident reported a roar of engines on nearby BLM property.

*Gordon John Schuster was cited on charges of driving with a suspended license (DWS) and failure to carry proof of insurance. His vehicle was impounded.

Saturday, Sept. 15

*At 1:12 a.m. on W. Watkins Street, Benjamin C. Ingram, 20, was cited on a charge of DWS.

*A red Crown Victoria, believed to have been burned in a fire recently, was reported stolen from an Upper Deer Creek Road resident.

*Jamie A. Farr, 17, was cited on a charge of careless driving following a noninjury vehicle-into-tree accident on Thompson Creek Road.

*Two persons fled the scene of a noninjury accident on Laurel Road, reported at 11:07 p.m. by a man who witnessed the wreck in his rearview mirror after the other driver “flew by” him.

Sunday, Sept. 16

*Two somebodies climbed a 6-foot fence and ran away when a home owner on N. Sawyer Avenue shined his flashlight at 2:05 a.m.

*Colleen M. Mitchell, 47, was cited on a charge of driving uninsured on S. Hussy Avenue at 9:03 p.m. Her passenger, Herbert K. Bright, was cited on a warrant charging failure to appear (FTA) on an original DUII charge.

*A black-and-white cat was reported struck by a patrol car on Waldo Lookout Road at 11:27 p.m.

*On S. Kerby Avenue at 11:53 p.m., Antoinette Alverson, 27, was cited on a charge of DWS and her vehicle was impounded. Her passenger, Robert Lee Stephens, 29, was cited on an Oregon State Police warrant charging FTA on an original DUII charge.

Monday, Sept. 17

*On Queen of Bronze Road a man reported witnessing another cause $500 damage to his fence.

*A red pickup truck and 16-foot travel trailer were reported abandoned off McMullen Creek Road.

Tuesday, Sept. 18

*Some $1,850 in damage occurred to electronic gates at the Forks subdivision on Schumacher Street when someone tried to drive through them.

*She and her brother were nearly run over by a man in a gold-colored, two-door Mazda, a young woman reported.

*Two Illinois Valley High School students were reportedly caught with marijuana in a boys restroom. Another boy, suspended from school, was found in the woods a short distance from campus, also in possession of marijuana. Reports were filed and charges pending.
