IVSHA aide gains honor
Grace Auzenne, lead advocate at Illinois Valley Safe House Alliance (IVSHA), was recognized by the Oregon Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence with a Passion Award.
The Passion Award is presented outstanding advocates in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault.
“Ms. Auzenne has spent more than 30 years working to make the world a better
place,” said Chris Mallette, IVSHA executive director. “She is a beacon of light to the victim/survivors and her co-workers. We’re very lucky to have her.”
Auzenne has dedicated her life to help women become safe, find housing and repair the damage from a life of poverty and abuse. She has worked for IVSHA since June 2005.

Since then she has used her quiet strength, personal experience, integrity and nurturance to help hundreds of survivors find their way back to a safe life for themselves and their children.
IVSHA was formed five years ago and already has made great strides in its mission to bring a safe house and excellent advocacy services to Illinois Valley, Mallette said.
