Friday, May 18
*On Ollis Road at 7:18 a.m. a man was seen shooting metal objects with a pellet gun. The caller stated that she was afraid to venture outside.
*A man unknown to the caller threatened to shoot his dog for barking at him, said a resident from the 5000 block of Rockydale Road.
*In Kerby a woman complained of being “harassed” by people taking photos from Redwood Hwy. A report of stalking was referred at her request.
Saturday, May 19
*At 2 a.m. prowlers tried to enter an apartment on W. Lister Street, and threw a rock through a window, the resident reported.
*A Cave Junction 8-year-old was reported to have walked away from his residence around 10 a.m. He was soon located.
Sunday, May 20
*A “Stop” sign, formerly located at W. River Street and Kerby Avenue, was, just after midnight, thrown into her front yard by a band of young people who “took off running,” a complainant said.
*An unattended van was blocking part of the roadway in the 5000 block of Takilma Road. The seller, who said that someone had taken it for a test drive and never returned, retrieved the vehicle.
*Bearing the title for the vehicle he’d left crashed into a fence on Takilma Road, a man took back his van from the sellers, who were concerned that they might be liable for something he did.
Monday, May 21
*Jeremy D. Dutton, 25, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS), and warned about making an improper turn and lack of insurance. Dutton’s vehicle was towed from S. Kerby Avenue at approximately 12:30 a.m.
*“Stop” signs around town were reported knocked over. A Cave Junction city employee was notified.
*Her 17-year-old son had run away to Illinois with a girl he met online, a rural Cave Junction mother reported.
Tuesday, May 22
*A duffle bag containing personal items was reported stolen overnight from a vehicle on W. River Street.
*ODOT was advised of a damaged school zone sign on Redwood Hwy. at the north end of Cave Junction. A vehicle came to rest against the sign after striking five parked cars at Western Plaza at 2:46 p.m. It was unknown why the driver, 74, left the roadway. No citation was issued.
*Her daughter’s 13-year-old acquaintance had begun appearing at their home unexpectedly and refusing to leave, although he’d been told not to return, said an unhappy caller.
*Several rifles were reported missing from a Laurel Road residence.
