Goats-a-go-go in OSU demo at fairgrounds
A demonstration day to introduce the public to the goat industry in Southwestern Oregon will be held Saturday, April 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Josephine County Fairgrounds in Grants Pass.
The eighth annual Oregon Goats & Friends Demonstration Day is co-sponsored by Oregon State University Extension Service’s Small Farm Program and 4-H. The event is free to the public.
More than 15 breeds of dairy, fiber and meat goats will be displayed. There will be demonstrations on goat feeding and care, uses of goat products and many other educational topics. A veterinarian will give a presentation on kidding management.
“Many fabulous goat-related items will be available at the event raffle,” an aide said.
