RCC board will consider some fee increases

Several price increases will be considered by the Rogue Community College Board of Directors during its meeting Tuesday, April 17 at 4 p.m. at the Table Rock Campus in White City.

The board has held the first reading of a resolution to raise in-state tuition $2 per credit hour to $66; and out-of-state tuition $3 per credit hour to $80. If passed the 17th, the increases would go into effect beginning summer term this year.

The proposal is based on a reduction in state funding, and changes to the community college funding formula, RCC said.

Directors also have held a first reading of a proposal to raise the cost of a student bus pass from $5 to $15 per term to offset increased transportation costs.

And the fee to take the General Educational Development exam could go up $10 from the existing $90 charge to cover costs of administering it, RCC said.
