Thursday, March 1
*At 8:35 a.m., a Lakeshore Drive woman reported that her son hit her in the head with a glass of milk. Jesse Brazeal, 18, was cited on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault and lodged in Josephine County Jail.
*On Patton Bar Drive, it was reported that a man was living in his pickup truck near a school bus stop. The caller was concerned for the safety of the children.
*A 19-year-old man’s complaint of assault was determined to have stemmed from mutual combat the night before. The parents of both parties were contacted.
*Ruark Anthony Miller, 18, was cited on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (PCS), less than an ounce of marijuana, after some weed was reportedly found in his locker at Illinois Valley High School.
*Money was sent via Western Union for a computer purchased from a seller in the UK, who failed to send the machine, a Cave Junction resident reported.
*In the company of a person of interest in her disappearance, a 17-year-old runaway was reported leaving Western Plaza in a black pickup truck, a caller reported at 5:27 p.m.
Friday, March 2
*Although he’d been warned about trespassing previously, a man was reported sleeping in his pickup truck parked on a Patton Bar Drive property. Neighbors and parents of children at a nearby bus stop wanted him out of the area, the caller said.
*While trying to repossess a vehicle on W. Stevenson Street at 11:30 a.m., a repo man was accosted by a man determined to first remove all the tires, and threatened to harm the repossessor if he interfered. A woman then began yelling about smashing the car windows.
*In the 3000 block of Dick George Road a resident said that someone had stuffed trash into his trailer; took the mailbox off its pole; and removed the satellite dish from the roof.
*A man reported seeing his stolen vehicle traveling toward Grants Pass on Redwood Hwy. at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 3
*Following a report of a man and woman fighting on Millie Street at 12:45 a.m., the parties were separated, and the man moved out.
*In Kerby at 1:20 a.m., a woman said that a “tweaker” was outside her residence with a gun, and she suspected he was trying to kill her mother. The subject left, and a menacing report was filed.
*A 911 call-taker spoke with “several” small children at a residence on E. River Street who were playing with a phone around 8:30 a.m., before convincing one of them to give the phone to dad. He was advised of the situation.
*A woman reported that she’d been slapped by a 22-year-old man, but conceded that she slapped him in retaliation. Charges of harassment were referred to the district attorney’s office.
*The owner of a stolen vehicle stopped the driver of the same on Kerby Mainline at 9 a.m. and accused him of taking it, at which point the driver sped away. The owner said he knew where the driver lived, and he was going to get the vehicle himself unless a deputy assisted. A deputy did check the area, but was unable to locate the vehicle.
*Having just purchased a white-colored car, an Old Stage Road resident was reported by a neighbor to be racing it up and down the street. The driver was advised of the complaint.
*Provisioned with “crackers, water and one can of soda,” and stuck in the snow in their Lincoln near a cliff’s edge on Onion Mountain Road, a couple phoned for a tow at 4:18 p.m. Some 45 minutes later, the caller phoned to say “someone” had pulled them out.
*In the 37000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 5 p.m. a woman said that her 60-year-old neighbor had come by to use the phone and then began “acting strange,” threatening her.
Sunday, March 4
*At milepost 17 of Redwood Hwy. at 12:16 a.m., a driver who admitted to “blowing off steam” was warned about VBR (violation of the basic rule/driving too fast for conditions).
*Yesterday, on Upper Deer Creek Road, a man reported finding a rib cage. He wasn’t sure if it was a deer or human, and was reluctant to move it until a deputy ID’d it. Overnight, dogs took away the bones, but by the description given, it was thought to have been a deer departed.
*Upon contact a “scruffy-looking” man reported loitering around Subway agreed to move on.
*In the 3000 block of Rockydale Road, a man unknown to the complainant was sitting in the backyard hitting something. The 46-year-old hitter was told to move along.
*A green Toyota pickup truck was reported stolen from the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. The owner suspected that somebody partying at his house last night had taken the keys.
*Michael J. Rumsey, 33, was lodged in county jail after being cited on a charge of probation violation following a reported disturbance involving alcohol on Cobalt Drive.
*An 18-year-old man walking in the 20000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 6 p.m. admitted to be tripping on mushrooms said he felt “like (he) was dying from the inside-out.” He was taken on a peace officer’s hold for evaluation at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
*Entry to a locked vehicle parked on a Downtown Cave Junction parking lot resulted in theft of a bank bag with cash and checks, the owner reported.
*At 9:40 p.m., the owner of a green Toyota pickup truck phoned to report his vehicle stolen early this morning. He was advised that theft had already been reported. The call-taker noted that the caller sounded intoxicated.
Monday, March 5
*Burglary, criminal mischief and theft were reported after an alarm at Illinois Valley Golf Course at 12:30 a.m.
*Quite a large dog belonging to a new resident was reported to have attacked another dog and was running loose in the area near Holland Store. The complainant said that the errant dog’s owner seemed “unconcerned.” The complaint was referred to Animal Control.
*His son claimed to have been assaulted by a Lorna Byrne Middle School staff member, who picked the boy out of the lunch line by his shoulders, a man reported. An officer noted that the child had been cited for harassment stemming from the same incident.
*A man on Arrowhead Drive reported receiving a threatening message from his girlfriend’s ex-husband, and he sought to file a stalking complaint
*David Wayne Sheldon, 21, was taken to county jail on a warrant charging failure to appear on a PCS charge.
*A Thompson Creek Road resident reported theft of a $700 chainsaw from her garage.
*Two propane tanks and a deep-cycle battery were listed as stolen from a travel trailer on Brown Road.
*In the 900 block of Lakeshore Drive, a woman reportedly had come to take back her horse, but refused to pay for five months of feed the complainant provided. It also was stated that the woman threatened to sue for mistreatment of the horse, but wouldn’t wait for law enforcement to arrive.
Tuesday, March 6
*Roger Lee Davenport-Pernicka, 22, was cited on a charge of driving uninsured and warned for failure to obey a traffic control device on W. River Street at 12:50 a.m.
*A “loud and intoxicated” man on S. Sawyer Avenue was warned for disorderly conduct following a complaint at 12:51 a.m. He was transported to his Kerby home “so his wife could care for him.”
*Dennis Alan Knight, 36, of Kerby, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after a report of a verbal disturbance at High Pines Trailer Park at 1:21 a.m.
*Two persons found sleeping in a motor home on S. Sawyer Avenue were warned to move on or be cited for violating a municipal ordinance prohibiting living in a vehicle on a public right-of-way.
*Brad Bell Blachly, 25, was cited on charges of DWS and driving uninsured on Rockydale Road. He was warned against speeding.
*A civil issue regarding firewood and money owed created a disturbance in the 600 block of Pine Cone Drive, reported at 5:19 p.m.
*In the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. a woman sought options regarding a restraining order after her intoxicated husband arrived to retrieve his belongings.
*Someone threw a plastic shelving unit at a sliding glass door in a house on S. Kerby Avenue, residents reported at 8 p.m.
*Deputies responded to a report of a physical altercation between an unknown number of persons at High Pines Trailer Park in Kerby, but none of those contacted desired law enforcement intervention.
Wednesday, March 7
*An employee at a neighboring business reported that a concrete block had been thrown through a window at Dave’s Perfect Pizza.
*Carmen A. Burgess, 45, was cited on charges of driving without an operator’s permit and driving uninsured; and warned for expired tags and failure to carry registration. Her vehicle was impounded.
*No assistance was needed at a Westside Road residence after a 16-month-old child phoned 911.
