Friday, Jan. 5
*A stolen vehicle was recovered in undriveable condition on Hogue Drive.
*A white passenger vehicle was reported stolen from Kerby Mainline.
*Heard but not seen, a man was said to be screaming and yelling at a woman from behind her residence in the 8000 block of Caves Hwy. at 11:40 a.m.
*An Oregon Dept. of Human Services (DHS) worker requested deputy assistance to remove two children from their S. Old Stage Road residence.
*Kevin J. Brittain, 39, was cited in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. on a charge of driving with a suspended license. He also was cited on charges of failure to appear (FTA) on four counts of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII), failure to perform the duties of a driver, and reckless driving.
*Deputy assistance was rendered to an elderly Martin Road resident who accidentally locked herself out of her house.
Saturday, Jan. 6
*Two aggressive dogs were running loose on Forest Creek Road, a caller said. Animal Control was notified.
*In association with two vehicles hauling burls on Redwood Hwy., Clifford R. Tracy, 34, was cited on charges of unlawful transport of special forest products.
*Robert J. Myers, 36, walked into the Illinois Valley Substation and announced that he had a warrant and would like a court date. A deputy obligingly arrested him, citing Myers on a charge of FTA on an original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, and set a new court date for him.
*Although repeatedly asked to leave, a man kept returning to a Cave Junction business, an employee complained.
Sunday, Jan. 7
*Just after midnight a man on Terrace Heights Drive said that his wife was “beating him up.” He then disconnected the phone line. The parties elected to separate for the evening.
*A complaint was received about a surround-sound system on Honeybee Lane at 4 a.m.
*Cars revving and people yelling created a disturbance on Fir Drive, two callers said at 8 a.m.
*A vacant residence in the 17000 block of Redwood Hwy. was said to be burgled and vandalized.
*An “older man” who appeared intoxicated was reported sitting on the fog line on Caves Hwy. near S. Junction Avenue at 8 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 8
*Though he’d reported he’d lost his gun at a Downtown CJ restaurant the night before, a man said that the firearm had been recovered on his friend’s driveway.
*Responding to a report of a disturbance on S. Kerby Avenue, a deputy arrested Leann Marie Long, 24, on a warrant charging FTA on charges of first- and second-degree theft. She was lodged in Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass.
Tuesday, Jan. 9
*A Texas longhorn steer, brown, with “real long horns,” escaped from a pasture near Reagor Lane, and it was said that two men driving a panel truck took the animal away, the owner reported.
*The fuel line on a school bus parked on E. River Street was cut and a quarter tank of gas siphoned, a driver said.
*Following a disturbance in Downtown CJ during which an intoxicated man was said to be fighting with a woman; Carrie Lynn Thoms, 36, was cited a warrant charging FTA on a charge of third-degree theft and lodged in county jail.
*Kathleen Ann Nickell, 63, was cited on a charge of domestic menacing and lodged in county jail.
