Sunday, Dec. 10
*Although an unknown assailant in Downtown Cave Junction gave her a black eye, a woman couldn’t decide whether to press charges.
*Just before 2 a.m., a man phoned from a Cave Junction bar to report that someone was “kicking his ass,” then disconnected the line. It was said that two or three men were chasing and fighting one other man. The fight moved across Hwy. 199 to the parking lot at SOFCU, where members of the CJ Citizens Patrol separated the subjects, and requested an ambulance. The unruly bunch left prior to the medics’ arrival.
*An informational report was taken on a third-degree assault in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 2:25 a.m. despite the victim refusing medical assistance or having any suspect information.
*An intoxicated man, who’d been assaulted earlier, phoned at 3:13 a.m. to say that he’d reconsidered getting stitches, but refused an ambulance. In the background, a woman could be heard telling him to hang up. He said “Sorry,” and disconnected.
*At quarter to 5 a.m. an intoxicated woman in a pickup truck was honking the horn, much to the consternation of a N. Old Stage Road resident.
*A white Honda was reported stolen from a parking lot in Selma at 10 a.m.
*The possible Illinois Valley whereabouts of a 16-year-old runaway from Grants Pass were investigated, but turned up nothing.
*Man and wife were reported fighting on Pine Tree Way at 4 p.m. He eventually agreed to leave.
*While teaching her daughter how to dial 911 at 4:10 p.m., a Thompson Creek Road resident hung up on a dispatcher, who phoned back.
*Brenda Lee Bradd, 37, was cited on a charge of removing a green tree without a permit on Briggs Valley Road at 5:30 p.m. With her was Peter Joseph Bradd, 40, who was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS).
Monday, Dec. 11
*Stemming from a disturbance on Lamont Way, which began around 11:30 the night before, an 18-year-old person was taken to Three Rivers Community Hospital on a peace officer’s mental hold.
*Not disturbed, but rather just intoxicated, a man phoned from Downtown CJ to say that someone should “come get him so he doesn’t do anything stupid.” He was given a ride home.
*An argument between a man and woman on Holland Loop apparently over the use of a car resulted in his being served a restraining order.
*A large steer or similar critter was reported loose on Caves Hwy. at the second Holland Loop intersection at 10:14 a.m.
*In defiance of a restraining order, a man had contacted a woman on Holland Loop several times by telephone, she said. He also reportedly admitted to having slashed the tires of a vehicle parked at her residence.
*Following a motor vehicle accident on Watkins Street at 1:20 p.m., Joseph Green, 20, was cited on charges of carelessness and driving uninsured. The other driver was transported by American Medical Response.
*Her grandchildren were out of control, said a Cave Junction woman, who also complained about her daughter’s husband.
Tuesday, Dec. 12
*A former Rockydale Road tenant said that she believes her landlord kept her unforwarded mail after she moved.
*Vandals in a white four-wheel-drive truck were tearing up the lawn at Jubilee Park, a caller reported.
*An O’Brien man reported theft and forgery of a $120 check. He suspected hitch-hikers he’d allowed to stay with him, who also may have damaged property.
Wednesday, Dec. 13
*A man who “appeared to be stoned” was wandering in and out of traffic on Caves Hwy. in the 100 block at 1:37 p.m.
*Silver spray-painted graffiti was reported in a restroom at Jubilee Park.
*Somebody stole his wallet while he was at a party on Reeves Creek Road a month ago, a man said.
*Someone used her debit card to remove almost $900 from her bank account, a CJ resident said.
*A man darting in and out of traffic on S. Redwood Hwy. at Watkins Street appeared to be a danger to himself and others at 4:23 p.m.
