Tales from the Police Blotter

* * *

Monday, Dec. 4

*Shortly after midnight an apparent victim of assault was discovered semi-conscious and bleeding from his nose and mouth on the parking lot of a Cave Junction bar. It also was thought that the highly intoxicated man had done some assaulting of his own, but he could not identify his female assailant. American Medical Response took him to Three Rivers Community Hospital.

*An ex-friend spit on her vehicle, a woman complained.

*A woman phoned to complain about loud music in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 9 p.m.

*Troy Craig King, 24, was cited on charges of disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal mischief after causing a disturbance at My Brother’s Pub and throwing a rock through a window after he was kicked out of the bar.

Tuesday, Dec. 5

*Around midnight deputies investigated a report that the man cited in the incident above was assaulted by four people. At the request of the complainant, charges of assault were to be referred to the D.A.’s office.

*After his “friend” stole his motorcycle, a Cave Junction man said that the suspects threatened to beat him and sell the bike. A deputy contacted all parties, a compromise was reached, and the bike was returned.

*Following a report of a bomb at Illinois Valley High School, which prompted evacuation of the student body, Mark Daniel Forsey, 15, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, and initiating a false report in an apparent effort to “ditch school.”

*A California motor home owner reported forced entry into his RV while it was parked on Illinois River Road. Damage to the front windshield and seats was said to be $2,100. Another $3,000 in appliances and electronic gear was reported taken.

*His wife had surgery recently, said a Cave Junction man, and she was flipping out on him. He thought it might have something to do with the painkillers, but he wanted it made clear that, should she phone 911, he had not been harassing her.

*A reckless young driver with four passengers nearly ran her off Caves Hwy., a driver said at 1:47 p.m.

*On S. Old Stage Road a woman said that her husband was harassing her, and it was causing her great pain.

*Some suspect information was available in the case of a log splitter stolen from a garage on Westside Road.

*A 24-foot enclosed utility trailer and two ATVs were reported stolen from a Westside Road address.

Wednesday, Dec. 6

*An 80-year-old man was found deceased at Living Word Fellowship Church on Caves Avenue.

*An oxygen/acetylene cutting torch and tank set was reported taken from a barn on Deer Creek Road.

*While its owners were out of town, someone removed the drive line valued at $200 from her boyfriend’s Chevy pickup truck, according to a woman on S. Junction Avenue.

*Two men in dark clothing were seen running from her residence as she returned, said a woman on White Schoolhouse Road. Due to fog, she could say only that they left in a maroon sedan.

*Two young men who were staying at a Lamont Way residence were thought to have taken some prescription medications and one was “wigging out.”

*A Laurel Road resident reported theft of tools value at $250 from an unlocked vehicle.

Thursday, Dec. 7

*A man with an alleged anger problem was reportedly breaking car windows in the 100 block of Kerby Street at 1 a.m.

*In the 5000 block of Westside Road at 2:35 a.m. a neighbor’s dog had been barking for more than an hour, and this was thought unusual.

*On Happy Camp Road a man was warned for lack of a Christmas tree permit.

*Though it was not like him, a mother said, her 16-year-old son had not returned home after spending the night at a friend’s house. He was listed as a runaway.

*BLM was to be notified of firewood theft from property off Deer Creek Road.

*While he was away (in jail), someone broke into his shop, taking electrical equipment and numerous tools, said a Takilma Road resident. Also, two of his vehicles had been “completely damaged,” apparently with pick axes.

*Cutting the locks to gain entry, thieves made off with copper wiring from inside a shop in the 7000 block of Rockydale Road. Radiators from several cars also had been stolen.

*Neighbors reported yelling and screaming from a Fir Drive address.

*A black Ford pickup truck was reported stolen from the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy.

Friday, Dec. 8

*Two students were found to be in possession of marijuana at IVHS. An investigation was pending.

*Young people with skateboards had turned on the lights and were fooling around on the open-air stage at Jubilee Park, a caller said at 10 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 9

*Employee error was responsible for an alarm at Dairy Queen at 8:30 a.m.

*In the 800 block of Caves Hwy. a bothersome woman filled the complainant’s wheelbarrow with the complainant’s firewood and took it to her house without paying attention to people yelling at her to stop. Subsequently, Nelia B. Pierson, 53, was arrested on charges of failure to appear (FTA) on various charges of theft, menacing, robbery, negotiating a bad check, criminal trespassing contempt of court and third-degree assault. She was lodged in Josephine County Jail.

*A white, two-door Dodge was reported stolen from a Kerby resident.

*On White School Road some sort of verbal disturbance occurred between the residents.

*All parties on White School Road agreed to separate for the night after deputies again were called there.

*At 9:30 p.m. a caller said a local, “disturbed” man was walking circles around a vehicle on Watkins Street.

*Tammy Dianne Wiley, 41, was taken to Three Rivers Community Hospital on a peace officer’s mental hold after a reported disturbance in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy.
