Wednesday, Nov. 22

*Near Hwy. 199 and Lakeshore Drive at 4:34 a.m., a car with its lights on had to be towed after its driver maneuvered it against an embankment.

*No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision at Hwy. 199 and W. Watkins Street at Shop Smart at 10:40 a.m. Drivers were identified as Linda T. Rice, 55; and Carlos Jaime, 35.

*Because of an “error” with a TTY machine, the 911 Dispatch Center was called from Reeves Creek Road.

*An abandoned travel trailer was reported at an Illinois Valley trailer park. The park owner said that a man rented a space in April, and another man showed up two months later to continue. Since then, neither man has ever returned.

*No reason could be found for an alarm that came from SOFCU Community Credit Union in Cave Junction at 4:04 p.m.

*“Employee error” was listed after a panic alarm at Evergreen Federal Savings in Cave Junction at 5:13 p.m.

*A man walking on the middle of the road was struck by a vehicle in Downtown Cave Junction at 6:08 p.m. The man subsequently was identified as Gary Rodrigues, 53, who is in a Portland hospital and last reported in critical condition.

*Someone was setting off fireworks in the area of W. Palmer Street and N. Kerby Avenue at 7:56 p.m.

*Reported theft of “personal work equipment” was termed a civil matter following a complaint from Garner Road.

*ODOT was advised of a tree blocking both lanes of Hwy. 46 nine miles east of Cave Junction at 11:25 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 24

*Jacqueline R. Elgin, 36, was arrested on a charge of first-degree theft after a complaint from Norman Road that a Boxer puppy was missing.

*Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (UUMV) was reported from the 3000 block of Hwy. 46 by a man who said that keys were not in the vehicle, but that his wife’s purse was in it and that maybe the keys were in there.

*In connection with a civil case involving tools, a man in O’Brien said that his business associate had run over him, but that he was uninjured. The complaint was termed unfounded as a crime.

*While filling potholes on Three Mill Road, a man was told by a neighbor that he had no business doing so, his wife said.

*Suspects were sought in a case involving burglary and damage of a home on N. Sawyer Avenue with an estimated loss of $27,000.

*Following a crash of two dirt bikes at Lake Selmac at 5:50 p.m. the injured drivers were warned about illegal operation of off-road vehicles on a roadway. The drivers, identified as Donald R. Miller, 31, and Brandon Ferris, 23, were transported by American Medical Response.

*Extra patrol was asked for on W. River Street.

*Following a request for a welfare check of a man on Caves Hwy., it was said that he appeared well.

Saturday, Nov. 25

*Jubilee Park was patrolled at 12:52 a.m.

*No crime was detected after an intoxicated woman phoned 911 at 2:59 a.m. from Deer Creek Road to report that she was raped. Friends were keeping her from driving.

*After a high-speed chase (80 mph reported) on Takilma Road at 8:03 a.m., Justin B. Taylor, 18, was arrested on a charge of hindering prosecution.

*In Downtown CJ a man was advised to not block a business driveway.

*People locked a woman out of a house on White School Road because she was wielding a paring knife. She was taken into custody under a peace officer’s mental hold.

*In Downtown CJ a man was causing a problem because he had been told to not park his car and block a driveway. He was advised of his options.

*UUMV was reported by a man on Holland Loop. The complainant was told he needed to provide proof of ownership.

*A boy in a car kept locking the doors, and a man was yelling and swearing at him in Downtown CJ.

*Two shots (from a gun) were used to dispatch an injured deer in the 24000 block of Hwy. 199.

*UUMV was reported in the 22000 block of Hwy. 199 by a woman who was told that it was not a crime because her husband took a pickup truck, and that it also was not a crime that he tried to run her down when she jumped in front of it.

*Don C. Kaumoo, 51, was cited and released on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm on Little Grayback Road.

*A boy was “trespassed” from a CJ business because, the owner said, he harasses his granddaughter.

*Following a report that a middle school girl had been assaulted by two high school girls, the matter was to be handled internally by Three Rivers School District.

*A woman on Frederick Court felt that someone has been harming her dog.

*Four people were disorderly, banging against his walls, said the co-owner of Federal Paralegal Inc.

*Mutual combat was noted after a complaint by a man on Arrowhead Drive that he had been assaulted by his wife’s sister and her husband.

*A citizen phoned to say that a person walking along Holland Loop might be a wanted person, but he wasn’t.

*An elderly man was found safe after he was temporarily missing in Takilma.

*Bottle rockets at a party at the end of Shadowbrook Drive were thought at 8:43 p.m. to be gunshots by a neighbor. The party folks, who had been drinking, were told to keep it down.

Sunday, Nov. 26

*Sean M. O’Farrell, 37, and David M. O’Farrell, 41, were arrested on charges of third-degree and fourth-degree assault following an incident involving yelling, screaming and being physical on Addison Lane reported at 1:09 a.m.

*At 2:12 a.m. a man in O’Brien dialed 911 to report a burglary of tools on Garner Road. He was told to phone back later on the nonemergency line.

*At 2:20 a.m. a boy, 17, was warned about curfew when checked in his car at I.V. Visitor Center.

*“Owner error” was cited after an alarm at a home on Ollis Road.

*A man with a pencil behind one ear was “trespassed” from a CJ business at 10:21 a.m. after threatening an employee. It was said that he had bought alcohol at 5 a.m.

*UUMV was reported from a trailer park in the 27000 block of Hwy. 46.

*There was a complaint from a woman in Kerby, who said that she confronted a man urinating in front of his child by a red vehicle, and that he told her it was none of her business. Then he drove away.

*After a disturbance in a CJ restaurant, during which a woman threatened a waitress and said she’d blow up the building, she was taken into custody under a peace officer’s mental hold.

*From Garner Road, the situation of two men in business and having problems was reported again in a claimed case of burglary.

*A “suspicious” vehicle was complained about in the 5000 block of Hwy. 46 at 4:16 p.m.

*Following a complaint of burglary on Pinewood Way it was determined to be a civil matter.

*Some brilliant person used a key to damage a patrol car at the Illinois Valley Substation.

Monday, Nov. 27

*A burglar was scared away from a home in the 27000 block of Hwy. 199, it was reported at 9:54 a.m.

*An “upset and irrational” caller from O’Brien insisted that a tool situation was an emergency.

*In the 6000 block of Takilma Road a reported stolen vehicle was recovered after a man said it had been there for around four days.

*A man phoned from Garner Road about tools and was advised again that the matter was civil in nature. He phoned again from O’Brien about the same matter, and continued to threaten to sue the sheriff’s office. Then he phoned once again from O’Brien.

*No emergency existed, it was found after an “accidental” 911 hang-up call from Kerby.

Tuesday, Nov. 28

*A man phoned from Garner Road to report that $130,000 worth of equipment and assets had been stolen.

*Damage to a front door at Munchie’z was estimated at $500.

*“Employee error” caused an alarm at the CJ Library at 8:51 a.m.

*Deputies responded to Selma at 1:04 p.m. after a passer-by reported a man shooting at two women. When sorted out, it was found that a man had fired in the air to make the women leave, and they wanted nothing to do with law enforcement.

*From O’Brien came a call that a father’s daughter, 12, had run away.

*It was possible that a thief was scared away from the 7000 block of Holland Loop at 12:56 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 29

*Emergency personnel responded to Laurel Pines Golf Course after a noninjury accident when a semitruck and trailer tangled with a guardrail.

*No evidence of a crime was detected after a report of domestic violence in the 7000 block of Hwy. 46.

*A “repo man” did his thing on Ollis Road.

*After a report of a red bull on Hwy. 199 at Sauer’s Flat, the critter couldn’t be located.

*Robert L. Klotz, 41, was cited on Krauss Lane on charges of theft and littering.

*Yogesh Zito, 53, was arrested on charges of first-degree sodomy, first-degree sex abuse, sexual misconduct, third-degree sex abuse, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A girl, 10, the day before had disclosed contact with the suspect.

*First-degree burglary involving personal and U.S. government property from a trailer was reported at Page Mt. Snow Park.

*Today and during other days, a number of folks were warned for either not having a Christmas tree permit or displaying it improperly.

*A gathering of transients was complained about next to U-Haul in CJ. The complainant said that they keep removing a night light.

*Three men and a woman were said to be fighting near a business at the north end of CJ at 6:34 p.m.

*Armed men were said to be in O’Brien in connection with a man’s complaint that tools and other items had been stolen.

*Theft of a cellular telephone was reported in O’Brien.

Thursday, Nov. 30

*Patrol was conducted near O’Brien Country Store at 12:14 a.m.

*Theft of a $180 stepladder from outside a residence on S. Kerby Avenue was reported.

*Some sort of trespassing was logged in the 33000 block of Hwy. 199.

*A man phoned from Garner Road to claim fraud.

*Although a man in the 24000 block of Hwy. 199 wanted to report UUMV, he is not the registered owner.

*People on Iron Way were OK. Their telephone had been out of order, and someone was concerned.

*At the south end of CJ, a UUMV case involving a quad was concluded by the owner, who said that the suspect was “bleeding somewhat from his head.”

*From Garner Road came a call from a man who said that his Social Security card and birth certificate had been stolen.

*Young children who dialed 911 from Waldo Road were to be counseled.

*No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision in the 5300 block of Holland Loop.

Friday, Dec. 1

*Theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 12000 block of Takilma Road.

*Possibly stolen items were found in a car on Laurel Road.

*Trespassing was complained about on Arrowhead Drive. The suspect was said to have screeched his tires and screamed profanities.

*“Guns were to be drawn” in connection with a continual situation on Arrowhead Drive. One man was “trespassed,” and everyone was advised of options.

*At a CJ store, a boy, 17, was arrested on charge of being “beyond parental control.”

*Someone phoned to report that his former son-in-law bragged that he was paid $6,000 to beat a man in Cave Junction.

*People yelling for their dogs turned into a case of belligerence and cussing when they were told to be quiet at 9:17 p.m. in the 24000 block of Hwy. 199.

*Fireworks were upsetting a woman’s dogs on N. Kerby Avenue at 8:46 p.m.

*After being struck by a vehicle, a coyote on the Hwy. 199 at Reeves Creek Road was dispatched.

*A man trespassed and caused a problem in a CJ bar at 9:51 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 2

*There seemed to be no good reason for a burglar alarm in the 6700 block of Holland Loop at 8:22 a.m.

*Theft of $300 worth of tools from a locked shed was reported in the 24000 block of Hwy. 199.

*Theft of a $430 washing machine from a Hwy. 46 home was reported.

*Vehicular hit-and-run on a Downtown CJ parking lot was logged .

*AMR transported a man after a quad accident near Draper Valley and Indian Creek roads.

*Suspicious men tried to pull a man from his pickup truck and fight on a Downtown CJ parking lot.

*A former tenant at a valley trailer park was said to be racing around in a shopping cart.

Sunday, Dec. 3

*A disturbance was reported on O’Brien Road at 9:09 p.m.

*“Pops” that could have been gunshots or firecrackers were heard on School Street in Kerby.

*James McManis, 45, was arrested at CJ business under a fugitive warrant.

*Approximately $8,000 worth of jewelry was reported stolen from a home on E. River Street.

*Although it first was thought that a trespasser had walked on a couple’s deck on Holland Loop, it turned out to be wife, who had left for work early.

*A Kirkham Road resident said that a man followed him home and made threats.

*A possibly known young vandal damaged windows at Munchie’z.
