Monday, Aug. 28
*In the 11000 block of Takilma Road at quarter to 4 a.m., a suspected prowler was discovered to have been a cat.
*A thin, toothless man with long hair was said to have been trespassing in the 7000 block of Rockydale Road, and screaming “at the top of his lungs” while in the middle of the road. He was warned about trespassing.
*Tires and wheels valued at $1,500 were reported stolen from a for sale, 4x4 vehicle parked on a field in the 23000 block of Redwood Hwy.
*Prescription medications, $94 and a crate of teaching materials were reported taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in front of the Cave Junction Post Office at 6:37 p.m.
*A woman in the 1000 block of Dick George Road requested deputy contact regarding a burglary which happened earlier.
Tuesday, Aug. 29
*Just before 11 a.m. a man seen sprawled in some juniper bushes on the corner of Redwood Hwy. and W. Watkins Street was determined to be “taking a nap.”
*A bearded man seen running in and out of traffic on Redwood Hwy. at W Lister Street at 1 p.m. was determined not to be a harm to himself.
*Use of fireworks on E. Watkins Street at Caves Avenue was reported at 9 p.m.
*Concern of fire danger prompted a call from Caves Hwy. about someone riding an ATV through a field and residential area.
*Young people were lighting fireworks in Jubilee Park around 9:15 p.m. a caller said.
Wednesday, Aug. 30
*Some sort of disturbance was reported on Smith Sawyer Road at 2 a.m., but the situation had calmed and all parties dispersed prior to a deputy’s arrival.
*Four tires and chrome wheels were reported stolen overnight from a vehicle in the 2000 block of Rockydale Road.
*Cited on a charge of failure to maintain a lane today: John William Stein, 68; Josette Kanani Julian-Fithian, 33, (also cited on a charge of failure to carry registration); and Jeffery Wayne Cool, 35.
*Nicolay N. Shlitter, 18, was cited on a charge of failure to wear a seatbelt in the 5000 block of Illinois River Road at 12:37 p.m.
*Bryan S. Wonnell, 41, was cited on charges of failure to drive right and lack of a driver’s license on Illinois River Road.
*Ira John Christen, 31, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license in the 4000 block of Illinois River Road. His vehicle was impounded.
*At 3:30 p.m. two men were discovered unconscious at the scene of a motor vehicle accident (MVA) on Eight Dollar Mountain Road. After he was transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital, James Robert Bertagnoli, 49, was cited on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (UUMV). The recovered, stolen car was towed away.
*It’s unclear which of two persons was cited on a charge of driving while suspended (DWS) in the 4000 block of Illinois River Road at 5:20 p.m., but their vehicle was impounded.
*When recontacted by a call-taker, a woman on Lamont Way said that she’d been dialing 911 when someone refused to leave her residence, but that he’d since gone and all was OK.
*On Rockydale Road a man said that he was punched in the face by a man who’d come to recover some money. He later chose not to press charges.
*At 5:30 p.m. a man advised that his roommates on Burch Drive were fighting and that he was “shaken up.” Everything was OK when a deputy checked.
*There had been a fight across the road, said a woman on S. Caves Avenue, at 5:52 p.m., but one of the combatants had left and no further assistance was needed.
*In a “landlord/tenant dispute” on Burch Drive, two men each claimed to have knives pulled on them. The situation was to be resolved, as one of them was moving out.
Sunday, Sept. 3
*At 9:14 a.m. a caller complained of a perpetual problem with his Millie Lane neighbors, who play loud music all day and swear loudly, he said.
*A caller asked that a deputy check the welfare of a Cave Junction woman who left a disturbing, “crying and distraught” message on the complainant’s machine.
*Cited today on Illinois River Road on charges of failure to maintain a lane: Warren E. Rousseau Jr., 58; Ryan J. Klosterman, 24, (also cited on a charge of failure to carry registration); William L. Crockett, 30; David N. Mizerak, 32, (also cited on a charge of driving uninsured); Dave C. Myers, 41; Elijah B. Baker, 26; Sandra L. Harmon, 26, (also cited on a charge of failure to display a front plate);
*On Wildpark Lane a man said that his father was burned when he lit a cigarette while using oxygen. His father did not want an ambulance, and the two fought over that while the call-taker listened. Another family member offered to take the burned man to the hospital, and all agreed.
*In Selma a woman said that a person had phoned her business several times alleging drug use and car theft by an employee. She was told to phone again if that person caused any further trouble.
*A man on Burch Drive said that his replica Colt firearm had been taken from his room following an altercation the night before.
Monday, Sept. 4
*Cited on a charge of failure to maintain a lane on Illinois River Road today: Kent Leland Gibson, 46; Kelly R. Woody, 18; Nicolas James Rose, 21, (also cited on a charge of driving uninsured); Dale Wayne Watford, 43; Theodore Eldon Wickstrand, 38, (was also cited on charges of driving uninsured and DWS; his vehicle was towed); Stuart Charles Wells, 43, (also cited on a charge of driving uninsured; his vehicle was towed); Michael Thomas Blaschka, 39; Paul Eugene Reynolds, 54; Marcie Kay Warren, 51; Gary Leonard Simpronio, 58; Christopher Lee Funderburg, 25, (also cited on a charge of driving uninsured); Jeremy Wayne Kime, 35; and Jared Alan Broughton, 25.
*Some sort of disturbance regarding ownership of property within a residence on Millie Street occurred around 12:30 p.m.
*During the Labor Day parade in Downtown CJ, a woman said that her ex-husband followed her and her husband around in violation of stalking and restraining orders against him.
*Pamela May Duhon, 30, was cited on charges of failure to wear a seatbelt, driving uninsured, and lack of an Oregon driver’s license on Illinois River Road around 4 p.m.
*A Selma woman phoned to report credit card fraud and identity theft.
Tuesday, Sept. 5
*In the 9000 block of Takilma Road around 4 a.m. it was reported that a woman refused to leave a residence where she was unwelcome. The call-taker noted sounds of a disturbance as the call was cut off and resumed several times. Subsequently, Kristine Donna Nelson, 32, was cited on charges of failure to appear on two original charges of DUII and one of contempt of court. She also was warned of trespassing at the incident location.
*A child playing with a phone on Schumacher Street was responsible for a 911 hang-up call at 7:21 a.m.
*“Numerous firearms” and other items were reported taken from a residence in the 22000 block of Redwood Hwy.
*Caught attempting to take two 24-ounce beers from Shop Smart Food Warehouse, a “transient” individual was warned about trespassing there.
*Detained for attempting to shoplift two beers, a man threatened to commit suicide upon leaving Shop Smart. Subsequently, Leslie Roy Jansson, 49, was cited to appear on a charge of third-degree theft. He was determined not to be a danger to himself or others.
*In the 4000 block of Holland Loop, loud music was complained about at 10:20 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 6
*Following a rollover MVA on Caves Hwy. at Tycer Crossing, James A. Vlachopoulos, 44, was cited on charges of driving with a suspended license, and lack of liability insurance.
*After he was observed stepping into traffic on Caves Hwy. at Old Stage Road at 1:20 p.m., nearly causing a four-car MVA, Leslie Roy Jansson, 49, stated that he saw the cars, but “didn’t care.” He was cited on a charge of second-degree disorderly conduct by recklessly obstructing vehicular traffic.
*Stephen Loren Ross, 54, was cited on charges of failure to carry registration and proof of insurance. He also was warned for failure to secure a load in the 100 block of N. Redwood Hwy at 5:12 p.m.
*Asked several times to leave a property in the 1800 block of Rockydale Road, but refusing to do so, David James Parker, 47, began stalking around with a knife in his hand, it was reported. He was subsequently taken into custody on a peace officer’s mental hold and transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital.
Thursday, Sept. 7
*Obtaining fry-oil without permission from behind a CJ restaurant for their bio-diesel fueled vehicle, occupants of an old, camouflage-painted bus spilled oil all over the ground. The restaurant owner said that he has a service pick up the oil, from which he derives some benefit.
*Damage of approximately $1,500 was reported to have occurred when a man in an SUV backed into a woman’s car at the CJ Post Office. He left without leaving personal data.
*A man and woman reportedly were fighting over property kept at a mini-storage facility in the 25000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 2:30 p.m.
*Steve B. Shirley, 34, was cited on a charge of VBR (driving too fast for conditions) on N. Redwood Hwy. in the 200 block at 7:18 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 8
*Though she did not know how he could be doing it, a woman in Vermont said that a Selma man was “murderously harassing” her and her family, and controlling their minds. It occurs all day and night, she said, and she would like him contacted and told to stop.
Saturday, Sept. 9
*Five young people were said to be on top of a rest room roof at Jubilee Park at 4:25 p.m., tearing up shingles.
*A woman said that her husband was threatening her, and he said she was hanging out with “drug dealers” and that he just wanted to talk to her. She was transported to a safe place, as she expressed fear of him, and both were provided options for their issues.
Sunday, Sept. 10
*Loud and intoxicated persons at a party on E. River Street at 1:30 a.m. annoyed a neighbor, who phoned to complain.
*Just after noon, a resident on E. River Street complained that vehicles were routinely traveling above the posted 25 mph speed limit, endangering children.
Monday, Sept. 11
*Though asked to leave, a highly intoxicated man was pounding on the windows at Shop Smart, it was reported at 2:24 a.m.
*On Ridge Vista Drive a man said that a person who has been staying on his property threatened him with a shovel. He was given information about the eviction process.
*In the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. a woman said that young people were trespassing on her property.
*Someone took 6-by-6-foot Coke signs from in front of Subway and placed them across the street, where they were picked up and taken away by someone in a blue, convertible T-Bird.
*At 20 minutes after 10 p.m. someone in a minivan was seen attempting to steal gasoline from a vehicle parked behind Goodwill and Robbie’s Auto in CJ.
