Sunday, May 21
*On Garner Road a man reported finding a black safe containing possibly stolen financial information. He was concerned, as the person who claimed the safe insisted that the police “should not get ahold of the box.”
Monday, May 22
*Concerned about the welfare of a woman on Dick George Road because of what was called the illegal activity of one person, a man requested that a deputy check on the woman. She wasn’t home.
*Reporting as required by the telephone company, a man said that a Takilma Road resident had fraudulently opened an account using his name and Social Security number.
*While running errands in her golf cart, a Cave Junction woman noted that her purse, containing medical cards, was missing.
*Traveling at a high rate of speed and tailgating, the driver of a Winnebago was warned about his behavior when pulled over at milepost 28 of Redwood Hwy. at 6 p.m.
*Though a resident on S. Hussey Avenue was concerned that several intoxicated people who would not leave when asked were going to camp overnight in her front yard, they dispersed prior to a deputy’s arrival.
Tuesday, May 23
*No entry appeared to have been gained following an alarm at Midnight Oasis at 3 a.m.
*In Selma a woman complained that new owners of the property next door had cut power to the well she shared with them and were uncooperative about it.
*On Queen Of Bronze Road a man said that he heard yelling and screaming, and believed it was directed at him.
*Aaron M. Addams was cited on a charge of careless driving on Caves Hwy. at Old Stage Road at 3:50 p.m.
*On Ollis Road a woman reported unwanted face-to-face and telephone contact from a man against whom she has a restraining order.
*Jonathan Alexander Wilcox, 20, was arrested on a charge of probation violation and lodged in Josephine County Jail.
*The driver of a red Chevy Blazer was said to be tearing around the Ray’s Food Place parking lot in Selma.
*Two gunshots were heard by someone south of W. River Street at 9 p.m.
Wednesday, May 24
*On Queen of Bronze Road a man was informed just after 10 a.m. that, even if the neighbor were driving by and revving his engine, “it did not constitute a retraining order violation.”
*Three persons were contacted at Jubilee Park, and warned against trespassing and drinking there.
*Although it was unknown to whom a lawn-mower, weed-eater, and garden hoses taken from a property on Dick George Road belonged, it was known that they shouldn’t have been taken.
*Kaja Rae Duarte, 23, was determined to have a blood-alcohol content of 0.24 following a single-vehicle crash on Lone Mountain Road at Redwood Hwy. at 5:30 p.m. She was cited on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII), and released at the I.V. Substation.
*A woman, whose belongings were still at her ex-boyfriend’s residence, was told that his refusal to allow her to retrieve them was a civil matter, and she was advised of her options.
*Two passengers in a motor vehicle accident earlier in the day who had refused treatment phoned later to say that they were experiencing pain. They were transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass by American Medical Response.
Thursday, May 25
*Upset over tree-cutting on S. Hussey Avenue, a man was reported in a business cussing and talking to himself at 9:18 a.m.
*Another person was said to be “being mean to everybody” at the business reported earlier, apparently making it difficult for the caller to finish his work.
*Near Lake Selmac, a deer in need of being put down turned out to be a game-law violation victim, and OSP was notified.
*Chad B. Bauer, 37, was cited on a charge of driving with a suspended license (DWS). Stopped on E. River Street at Old Stage Road, he also was warned for speeding, and his vehicle was impounded.
*Stopped near CJ 76 service station, Michael M. Conger, 25, was cited for lack of insurance and warned about his lack of a driver’s license and for failing to stop before entering a roadway.
*Four youngsters in a go-cart on Rockydale Road prompted a call at 1 p.m.
*“Threatening remarks” were being yelled at her by her neighbor, and it is a continuing problem, a Lone Mountain Road resident complained at 1:45 p.m.
*Though he’d paid for a refrigerator he was buying from a neighbor and had a receipt, a Kerby man phoned to say she was moving out and taking the appliance with her. He was told it was a civil matter.
*A wallet containing $20 was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked near the former Blue Moon Café (now Bagel Junction), it was reported at 7:18 p.m.
*Richard Gerald Orr, 44, was arrested on a felony warrant charging parole and probation violation, and lodged in county jail.
Friday, May 26
*“At least 100” gunshots were heard during a 20-to-30-minute period on Airport Drive, a resident complained at 2 a.m., and the dogs were “going crazy.”
*Headed up Onion Mountain Road with a bed full of trash, a white pickup truck attracted someone’s attention at 2:30 p.m.
*Hitch-hiking toward Selma, but against traffic, a man was said to be staggering on Redwood Hwy. in Kerby at 7:41 p.m.
*Rebecca C. Jones, 35, was cited on charges of DUII and possession of a controlled substance (PCS), less than an ounce of marijuana, on N. Kerby Avenue at 8:15 p.m. Her vehicle was impounded.
Saturday, May 27
*Three men in dark clothing were pounding on a steel security door behind the “liquor store building,” a witness stated at 1:22 a.m. Entry was gained, it was noted.
*Patrolling on foot at Jubilee Park at 2 a.m. a deputy noted that restroom doors were open.
*More than a $1,000 loss was reported, as punks broke wings off a carved, wooden eagle valued at $300; $600 worth of mirrors ripped off moving vans; and gasoline worth $150 siphoned out of U-Haul trucks, a complainant from Robbie’s Auto Care Center reported at 8:49 a.m.
