Monday, March 20
*On W. Lister Street at 6:19 a.m., a man in a dark blue shirt and jeans was reportedly peeping through a woman’s window.
*Just before 8 a.m. a man wearing a blue sweatshirt and jeans was thought to be searching for “something,” (reckoned to be a drug stash) in the bushes behind a residence on Ollis Road. A deputy could locate nothing out of the ordinary.
*During the weekend at Illinois Valley High School, fencing and electrical wiring were cut, numerous sheds damaged, and “major damage” estimated at $1,500 caused at the football field.
*South of Selma on Redwood Hwy., a “highly upset” caller complained that a driver in front of him had slammed on the brakes, causing a rear-end collision at 3:13 p.m.
*Harassment was reported at an office in the 100 block of N. Redwood Hwy.
*Investigating an odd 911 call from the 18000 block of Redwood Hwy., a deputy determined the public telephone there to be out of order.
*With music blaring, an “older, yellow vehicle” was speeding up and down Kinnikinnik Drive around 7 p.m. The occupants emerged at one point, and may have fired a gun, the caller reported.
Tuesday, March 21
*An intoxicated man, who spoke incoherently from a public telephone on W. Watkins Street sometime after midnight, was determined to have sustained a nasty gash to his head. He was transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital, and his dog taken to his sister’s house.
*A case for fourth-degree assault was investigated after a mother reported that her child had twice been stabbed with a doorstop at Lorna Byrne Middle School.
*David Leslie Clark, 54, was cited on charges of violation of the basic rule: driving too fast for conditions (VBR), and driving with a suspended license (DWS). His vehicle was impounded.
*Continuing problems his son encounters with bullies at LBMS prompted a father to phone with concerns that the school wasn’t doing enough.
*Some $45 worth of gasoline was reported taken from a U-Haul truck overnight at Robbie’s Auto Care.
*A small quantity of marijuana seeds was confiscated from a student by school officials at LBMS and disposed of.
*Byron Lee Merideth, 23, was cited for lack of a valid operator’s permit.
*In the 9000 block of Takilma Road, a verbal argument with pushing ensued when a woman’s ex-boyfriend refused to leave when asked. She was counseled on her options.
*Nonfunctioning key-cards had some tenants trapped behind the gate at Lake Selmac Resort, and, as the owners were not available, additional help was sought to open the gate.
*Two young men were reported driving recklessly through Jubilee Park, and “doing donuts” in a “beat-up, blue Olds.”
*Though it was reported that, in violation of law, children might be present at a listed meth lab site on Prottsman Way which was being cleaned up, such was found to not be the case.
*Just before 5 p.m. a couple of men were said to have been fighting near Taylor’s Sausage Country Store, but it wasn’t long before they separated and blew.
*Unknown whether he had fallen or been hit, an intoxicated bicyclist was found lying on the ground with glass all around him at Caves Hwy. and Old Stage Road. He refused treatment.
Wednesday, March 22
*On W. River Street a woman’s husband and adult son were harassing one another.
*Left near the Junction Avenue entrance to Jubilee Park was a vehicle with damaged ignition wires.
*While trying to retrieve items from an apartment on Hussey Avenue, from which they’d been evicted, a woman discovered that her belongings had been mistakenly given away to neighbors who thought they’d finished moving out.
*On Madrona Drive, a teen-aged boy was said to be driving a relative’s car and playing music loudly while she was in a hospital.
*Some $1,800 damage was reported after someone backed a vehicle into a storage unit, breaking the gate, drywall and doorway, and knocking an adjacent door off its track.
*Robert James Myers, 35, was cited on a charge of failure to appear on a charge of contempt of court and lodged in county jail on a parole violation charge.
Thursday, March 23
*Valued at $300, an air compressor was reported taken from an unlocked shed in the 6000 block of Rockydale Road. Some fuel also was reported taken.
*A precocious 10-month-old on Addison Lane was phoning 911, saying “Hi!” and hanging up. There were no problems at the residence.
*Fuel taken from a U-Haul truck at Robbie’s Auto Care was given an estimated valued of $40.
*Near Project Baby Check on Caves Avenue, a man and woman were said to be arguing at 11:28 a.m.
*On S. Boundry Avenue at Lister Street, two 13-year-old boys were said to be sitting in a treehouse on vacant property, skipping school and smoking marijuana. When the complainant confronted them about their behavior, they were said to have made obscene gestures at him.
*Zachery Wayne Reyes, 16, was cited on a charge of parole violation on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance (PCS: methamphetamine) and taken to the Juvenile Justice Center in Grants Pass.
*This afternoon, fingerprints were lifted from the scene of a residential burglary on Greenview Drive, reported two days earlier. Among items taken: an ATV and “some weapons.”
*Neilia Beth Pearson, 52, was cited on a charge of third-degree theft after leaving Valley Farm and Garden with two sacks of feed for which her check had not been accepted.
*Just after 4 p.m., Christopher Lee Johnson, 35, was cited on a charge of illegal parking for having hazardously left his flatbed trailer on a curve on Dick George Road. He was counseled on how to legally park the trailer.
*On Illinois River Road, a “dirty” man was sitting in a white vehicle in front of a residence talking to himself, and the resident wanted him to “move along.”
*Having left a note as to her intentions to live in Mexico with her father, a 15-year-old was reported as a runaway at 8:47 p.m.
