Monday, Oct. 17
*Noisy shadows and barking dogs indicated the presence of a prowler, a woman in the 300 block of Caves Hwy. said at 2:20 a.m.
*Somebody destroyed a mailbox and post on Lamont Way overnight, causing the home owner a $40 bill.
*Approximately $125 worth of fuel was reported taken overnight from two rental trucks at Robbie’s Auto Care Center in Cave Junction.
*Near Selma on Hwy. 199 a motorist with a stuck accelerator was aided.
*A break-in attempt at Blaylock Insurance on Caves Hwy. was investigated.
*Medical aid was refused following a two-vehicle crash at 3:21 p.m. at Hwy. 46 and Laurel Road. Edward Cunningham, 18, was cited on a charge of following too close, and friends took him to a hospital. The other driver was identified as Jennifer Jamieson, 20.
*A man was hiding behind a CJ bar at 5:09 p.m. as a BLM fire investigator was looking for him.
*Feuding folks had a problem in Selma. One said the other was trying to plant evidence on him.
Tuesday, Oct. 18
*An estimated $200 damage was incurred when an unknown person broke the lock on the back door of Century 21 Harris & Taylor in Cave Junction.
*Medication was reported stolen from a mailbox, which the would-be thieves damaged, on Warren Drive.
*In Selma a puppy that ran after its owner nearly caused a vehicle crash, according to a complainant.
*All the doors were open, all the lights on, and her place completely ransacked, said a woman in the 300 block of Caves Hwy.
*Near Burch Drive on Redwood Hwy. at 10:14 a.m., a “very large deer” had been hit by a car, but not killed. It was reportedly flailing around attempting to stand and spewing blood everywhere until a citizen dispatched it, and ODOT was advised to come get it.
*On the north side of CJ a woman believed her car had been taken, then returned by someone, as there was mud on the tires.
*Two vehicles on Caves Hwy. were unlawfully entered and rifled, a man reported at 11:25 a.m. Two multitools were taken, he said.
*Some $1,300 worth of Playstation equipment and games were taken a few days ago from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of N. Redwood Hwy. after thieves entered through a sliding window, the owner said.
*After reporting her son, 16, as a runaway person, the mother in CJ said that she would cancel her credit and debit cards, as they were missing with him. He came home later.
*“Beyond parental control,” a boy, 13, was a problem in Selma.
*A tall, skinny man walking on a guardrail was said to be disorderly near Redwood Hwy. and Draper Valley Road at 12:16 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 19
*Returning home after 3 a.m. a man said his residence in the 400 block of Reagor Lane was ransacked. It appeared that a ring valued at $1,000 and a flashlight were missing.
*A trespasser at Shop Smart was told to not return for the second time.s
*Although large and “heavy-duty,” a mailbox valued at $100 was never-the-less smashed on Upper Deer Creek Road, a woman reported at 9 a.m.
*Another Deer Creek Road resident reported that her mailbox, and 12 others, were wrecked overnight.
*In Selma, a boy, 11, was “beyond parental control” and cussing his mom.
*Some numbskull smashed the passenger-side window of a vehicle on W. River Street, causing $200 damage.
*A game violation was noted in the 13000 block of Lone Mt. Road.
*Two students at I.V. High School agreed to let the matter drop after a reported incident of assault.
*Following a head-on crash on Indian Creek Road, Kristine Nelson, 31, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII). The other driver, Matthew Krauss, 35, was reported to be injured and taken by American Medical Response.
Thursday, Oct. 20
*Responding to a report of a disturbance at Six Mile Campground on Illinois River Road at 10 a.m., an officer cited Donald Edward Cox, 60, on charges of failure to appear (FTA) on a charge of DUII, and driving with a suspended license (DWS). Cox also was cited federally on a charge of driving without insurance.
*Early this morning a mailbox on Lakeshore Drive met an untimely demise at the hands of mischievous cretins.
*Assault on McMullen Creek Road was noted, but the complainant likely was not going to press charges.
*On S. Junction Avenue a vehicle was entered and an ATM card, receipts, book bag and computer memory card reportedly taken.
*One of the drivers in a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident which occurred on Redwood Hwy. at River Street at 4:47 p.m. fled. No injuries were reported.
*Several persons were said to be smoking marijuana in front of a CJ business around 2 p.m.
*Some three to four transient persons were said to be drinking and carrying on at 6 p.m. on a Downtown CJ parking lot.
*Harassment deemed mutual was listed at Kerby Trailer Park at 7:21 p.m.
*In Selma, a prowler report included a report that the possible suspect could escalate the situation with rifles, handguns and maybe pipe bombs.
*Two Mona Way callers reported seeing a prowler, described as a man in blue jeans, a button-up shirt, and dark ball cap with white logo around 9:30 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 21
*Found living in a trailer on a Prottsman Way property condemned as a former methamphetamine lab, Jo Ann Bellah, 43, was cited and released on charges of criminal trespassing, endangering a minor, and child neglect.
*Items including a karaoke machine, a quarter collection and camera stored at her ex-boyfriend’s home on Reagor Lane were likely stolen by his other ex-girlfriend, a woman reported.
*One CJ business owner reported seeing items stolen from his house at another CJ business.
*“A pile-up” said to have involved upwards of nine vehicles occurred on Redwood Hwy. at Glendon Road at 3:48 p.m. However, only two drivers stopped to exchange information.
*Highly intoxicated, unable to stand or speak, a man had fallen from his bicycle and was lying on Redwood Hwy. in the 300 block south at 7:20 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 22
*There was a complaint from O’Brien that a person with five outstanding warrants bought a vehicle using a woman’s name.
*Out Eight Dollar road, Robin Scott, 37, was cited to appear under warrants charging FTA on a charge of contempt of court, and FTA on a charge of DWS.
*A woman reported that her purse containing her Social Security card, professional license, photos and a prescription pain reliever was taken from a vehicle at a CJ bar at quarter to 8 p.m.
*From CJ, a mother called to say that her son phoned her, and that he used vulgar language.
Sunday, Oct. 23
*Archibald M. Gibson, 24, was cited on charges of third-degree theft and criminal mischief after a shoplifting incident at Shop Smart Food Warehouse at 8 a.m.
*Sometime the night before, a control box was stolen from a pumphouse in the 1000 block of Caves Hwy., a man said. The pump’s filtration system was damaged, and the culprit apparently defecated inside the pump house.
*Two four-foot galvanized steel gates were taken from a property on Reeves Creek Road, a man said at 10:30 a.m.
*In the 7000 block of Holland Loop a woman said that someone tied a noose around her horse’s neck and tied that to a post in the pasture, nearly killing the horse.
*A blue VW Jetta stolen out of Portland was recovered near a quarry on Waldo Road at 12:34 p.m.
*In the 3000 block of Caves Hwy., a couple in the process of splitting up were fighting over belongings.
*Described as highly uncooperative, violent and indicating a willingness to fight with her neighbors, Tonya Jeanette Eiffert, 30, was taken into custody on a peace officer’s mental hold at 11 p.m. in Kerby.
*No one was around after a vehicle went over an embankment on Westside Road near Finch Road. The owner was notified.
Monday, Oct. 24
*Two callers reported hearing nearly a dozen rifle shots in the 7000 block of Takilma Road at 1 a.m. It was suspected that the shooters were hunting from the road.
*Gunshots and problems with campers were reported from Pine Cone Drive at 6:49 a.m.
*Some eight to 10 gunshots were heard coming from the vicinity of the river, said a caller in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 1:51 a.m.
*Following a burglar alarm at Fountain of Life Assembly of God Church in CJ, the building was secure.
*On E. River Street a woman said that her 19-year-old son was yelling and cursing at her, and would not leave. She was afraid he would break into the residence after she left and she needed to go to work.
*A boarded-up window in a vacant house nearby had been kicked in, said a woman on Hogue Drive. The culprits left behind a duffle bag, she said.
*Taking her credit card number from an online account, someone in Romania withdrew $1,400 cash, said a woman on Airport Drive.
*A mother reported that a male student a Illinois Valley High School pinched one of her daughter’s breasts, causing a bruise.
*Wearing blue jeans, a blue sweatshirt and with ratty, curly hair, a woman was said to be harassing customers at the CJ 76 gas station, and to have damaged a vehicle parked at Art’s Red Garter Saloon at 7:11 p.m.
*Back again at the gas station and acting disorderly, Tina L. Morris, 37, was cited on a charge of second-degree criminal mischief and warned about her conduct at 9 p.m.
*Several locations about the valley were patrolled and checked up on.
*On S. Old Stage Road, a woman reported the loss of some $300 worth of heating oil from a tank near her house. Also, a gas line may have been cut.
Tuesday, Oct. 25
*On Beebe Drive, a woman reported finding her brother’s marijuana, and asked a deputy come remove and destroy it.
*Some two years ago, his ex-wife stole a diamond ring from him, said a man on Reeves Creek Road.
*A downed phone line to a residence in the 4000 block of Dick George Road caused an apparent hang-up 911 call at 8 p.m.
